I am proud to be associated with this great institution and very much look forward to contributing together with my other advisory board member colleague to its continued future success in what is a fast changing sector.

As the Professor of this module I have designed and managed all the Global Leadership Module sessions and materials of the MSc International Business with 60 to 80 students each year.  This is 12 in person 3 hour sessions followed by a group assessment and individual essays.

On Target is a consultancy business which focuses on people transformation and leadership talent pool strategy of companies going through change.

We are retained M+A consultants for Velos IOT to support them with people due diligence as well as post deal change and integration. We are also engaged as Leadership assessment and talent development consultants for other Telecom sector large businesses.

Working globally but based mainly in London we provide a full range of organizational transformation and leadership / talent services for our client organizations across a wide range of industries and geographic locations.

Managing Director - Owner Principal

I have been supporting EE the consumer division of BT to plan and execute a cultural evolution that reflects its move from Telco to Techco and to a customer centric Platform.  I was working with the CEO and the board to define how the new EE Brand position and the customer experience that brings it to life is defined in terms of a PERSONAL employee colleague experience and the new leadership standards needed to deliver this.  This was a 22 hour per week contract.

Also managing the team that is looking at the next evolution of the talent development strategy of BT consumer division, which will meet its strategic future needs.  

Working closely with the central BT group HR function on defining the Leadership Standards needed for the future BT Group business strategic success and helping define the assessment tools and process needed to provide clarity on the current gaps in these capabilities.

My role has also included managing the annual Performance review and fairness calibration process as well as the strategic annual Goal setting for the year ahead.

Velos IoT

Supporting JT (IoT) which later became Velos IoT in developing and growing as a sustainable business with the right capabilities and culture needed for its success.  This was 8 to 16 hours per week.  Key focus:

- M+A activity including people and organisation due diligence, supporting acquisition and post deal integration and synergy.

- Senior talent and leadership recruitment, development and HR support

- People processes, policies and systems development for efficiency and scalability

Airocide

Airocide-UK (Operating as Gravity Air UK Ltd) is the sole supplier and distributor of Airocide products in UK and Ireland.  NASA developed the Airocide technology to meet the exacting standards of particulate and pathogen removal required for environments such as the Space Station.  Airocide is proven to filter out 99.99% of airborne impurities, including Covid family of viruses.

Butane Industrial Group

As advisor to the Chairman & CEO I have worked to prepare Butane Group Holdings for the next phase of its development including, development of clear Group Functions, Shared Services, Performance KPI for Operating Company MD's and Group Functions, Charters of Authority, Decision Making governance committees and Company Boards, as well as working on the new Vision, Mission of the company.  I have also taken the lead in introducing new global talent into the organization as well as coaching the existing senior executives.  Until 1st Feb 2018 I was also acting interim HR Director for 4 operating companies in the group.

Advisor to Chairman (Interim 50% FTE Part - Time Group VP)

After a period of difficult change, I was asked by the Chairman to help him prepare this organization for its next phase of development plus help him recruit several senior leaders.  Initially the engagement as to be for a fixed 6 month period but it was extended until we could find a permanent HRD.  Whilst there we improved employee communication and engagement, brought in several key new talent and bench marked our salaries and benefits.

Engaged to assess and recommend changes to the Network operations of the leading Telecom operator in the region (Valued at over $6.7 Billion. Leading a team of 4 Ericsson consultants from around the world, to deliver this assignment successfully.

Associate Managing Consultant

Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company

Based in Dubai and reporting to the CEO, I was the top HR person in the business looking after HR, legal, property, government relations, PR and communication functions across all 16 country operations.  My team and I looked after 3,500 permanent and over 600 casual employees.   Reporting to me were a team of 18 HR people in Corporate HR plus a further 15 embedded in our country operations as well as a team of 28 property, GRO and Admin officers.  

Jointly with our CFO, I was leading this organization in all aspects of the business for 6 month while we recruited a new CEO in May 2013.

My Achievements in ACCBC

•	I was fully involved in the due diligence and completion of the $1 Billion partnership deal with Coca Cola in 2012 and the acquisition of Coca-Cola Lebanon in 2014.  

•	By investing in local and young talent we have taken our Saudization from 18% to 28%, more than trebled the number of female employees

•	ACCBC has achieved employee satisfaction of 78% according to Hay Surveys as well as being voted the top UAE Employer Brand in 2014.  Also during my time employee turnover come down each year 

•	Number of promotions has doubled in the last two years of my time here with over 30% of senior positions internally filled internally. 48% of Business Critical roles had an identified successor 

•	With over 500 recruits per year to feed the growth in the business my team have reduced the cost of recruitment by 75% while increasing the quality 

•	Productivity has improved consistently each year with revenue per head increasing, and manpower costs as a % of revenue, decreasing consistently. 

I was placed by LinkedIn on the list of the top 500 best HRDs in the world.  One of only 3 nominated from the Middle East.

Vice President HR 

Vodafone Turkey

Working with CEO & the top team I had a key role in the turnaround of Vodafone Turkey with fantastic results to date including creating the new vision / strategy and a significantly leaner and flatter, faster organisation with better processes and people.  My team and I reduced the number of layers in the organisation.  Assessed all senior Managers through a formal assessment center process.  Increased efficiency whilst increasing employee engagement.  During this time our market share increased from 18% to 24%.

Head of Transformation & Culture,

As acting HRD of Vodafone Cyprus I managed all HR, Property, Security and Admin functions and reported to the General Manager.  The General Manager and I appointed all the top team and designed the new operating model. We totally re-organised all key the function and developed a new operating model to achieve our new strategy. I also planned and executed the change of HQ building.  Results were immediate, after only 6 month we had a 28% increase in customer numbers and 43%+ revenue growth. It was the first time VF Cyprus has been in profit for over 12 yrs.

HRD, Human Resources Director

With the top team we facilitated this very successful business turnaround, and culture change achieving 192% of targets in 2008.  We transformed the VF NL business from one of the most difficult operations in VF into one of the best by changing the leadership culture within this business.  I was responsible for all HR strategy, employee brand, organisational change planning, all resourcing, learning and development and OD.  I project managed the move of HQ from Maastricht to Amsterdam and recruited all 250+ new people in Amsterdam in 3 months.

Head of Capability and Change

My role looked after all 850 people in Group Marketing (including 4 CEO level people and 27 Directors) as well as keeping a talent overview and succession plans for all senior & high potential commercial people globally.

Head of Resourcing & Development Group Marketing

Working with country CEOs & HRDs I had a regional role to look after 10 countries in Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa (later it became the 18 emerging markets countries). I was responsible for all projects for proposed new start-ups including Oman, Saudi Arabia as well as for purchasing Telsim in Turkey.  I was also responsible for regional talent and leadership development, international moves, rotation programs and country succession planning as well as managing the high potential assessment and development processes.

Regional HR Manager (Italy & Emerging Markets)

I started in Vodafone Retail as Personnel Manager then I was promoted to the role of VF UK Management Development Manager in the newly set up Vodafone UK.  I set up all Management Development processes as a new department.  I then moved to Group IT as the IT Capability Manager,doing a full OD project to optimize the business performance of this function.  Finally I became the VF UK OD Manager, with a full brief including, structures, cultural change and creating a new employee deal.

I am a highly commercial strategic leader with wide operational management experience. Although I have  been a generalist, my passion and special expertise is in business transformation for sustainable growth with a strong focus on leadership culture, succession and talent strategy.

My adaptable style has helps me operate across many cultures in the world having lived in UK, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey, Iran, Kuwait and UAE as well as working in 24 other countries.  My industrial experience includes, Telecom, FMCG, retail, energy, manufacturing, fashion, and financial services. I have worked in many start-ups, including my own, as well as big global corporation in Group HQ’s, regional and country roles. In addition, I have worked in 4 large & medium size privately-owned family businesses.

I have a proven and consistent record of business results delivery especially in managing business transformation such as managing sustainable fast growth, start-ups, M+A project success as well as doing many successful big business turnarounds.

As a thought leader I am working part time as a professor of global leadership at Leeds university since September 2021 as well as being a published author and conference speaker and a C suit executive coach.  I am the winner of the Deans award for teaching excellence in 2023.
