Worked on building media knowledge graph which empowers media related queries for Apple videos, Apple TV, Siri, Spotlight search, Apple watch. 

Built data pipeline systems, focused on scalable solutions, data modeling,  data indexing.

Built reusable graph based scheduler framework which leverages internal systems available within Apple. This framework is being used by internal teams.

Worked on building the next-generation meta data system for all external services. Used and contributed to a lot of open-source software, not just limited to Hbase and Zookeeper.

1. Implemented merkle-tree based system to detect inconsistency between two datasets. https://github.com/gomathi/merkle-tree

2. Implemented a custom load balancer in hbase to place related regions together by means of using some clustering algorithms. Also implemented weighted load balancing to support heterogeneous hardware.

3. Implemented small system on top of merkle tree using hbase region observers, and detected whether each user dataset is in consistent state or not. Also extended the idea to differential resync primary and backup in case of backup being down for a longer period of time. Reduced the sync time between primary cluster and secondary cluster to minutes from hours, and also reduced the load on the system.

Often collaborated with other teams, and lead discussions on recent papers on distributed systems. Presented Raft(consensus algorithm) paper to a group of people.

Significant things that I did : 

i) Worked on Elastic IP feature. 

ii) Used consistent hashing and a internal distributed lock service to improve the reliability of the system, and made the system to be easily scalable. 

iii) Worked on reducing the memory footprint during particular kind of mode, and achieved 30% memory improvement. Used java memory profiler visualvm, and few other tools.

iv) Wrote a backup system using Dynamo DB to provide consistent snapshot during datacenter outage.
