I am data junkie with a passion for extracting knowledge by leveraging data science techniques in the quest for understanding things. Underlying this drive is what is often referred to as the biggest technological challenge of the digital era, that is, making sense of big data. Currently, the rate of data generation, estimated to be around 2.5 quintillion bytes of data PER DAY -- spawned by advances in computer and automation technology in industry, social media , web traffic, etc. -- exceeds all data generated by humans up to 2003 since the dawn of civilization. This provides a vital information resource that, if tapped with appropriate analytics, helps in improving knowledge and understanding of our complex economic, social, biological and physical systems.
