DYNAMIC GLOBAL EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY LEADER 20+ years of EdTech experience working in various settings from large urban to small suburban school districts. As a current Director of Technology with over 10 years of edtech leadership, I am a proven change agent, with a passion to lead collaboratively using cutting edge technology while bringing about innovation. I posses a deep understanding of technology as it differs in various settings around the world. I also have worked closely consulting with various edtech companies helping to bring about technology that best meets the needs of educators worldwide. As a member of my district’s Senior Leadership Team, working with a diverse group of leaders, I have helped to strategically project plan in a complex organization. I have maintained both large and small onsite and virtual networks, overseeing databases, cloud infrastructure, and cyber security. I have also with fellow Chief Technology Officers and various educators as the Awards Chair on the NHSTE Board and as President Elect and a member of NHCTO, the NH branch of COSN. I now oversee the technology of one of the largest school districts in the state of Massachusetts helping to support technology for over 15000 students daily. My responsibilities include the oversight of a vast network and over 40000 pieces of equipment to both maintain and refresh. I am able to do this while maintaining a very large balanced budget. My experience with writing and acquiring grants, and with working with and managing various vendors and projects simultaneously as well as negotiating and managing various contracts has helped to launch and sustain multiple projects. My ability to work collaboratively with others, building and developing high performing teams is evident not only in the success of my current position but also in the advanced PLN I founded with over 40 thousand members globally, sharing current trends and techniques in using educational technology to help transform EdTech. Recent accomplishments include the transformation of a school district into a national EdTech leader through the use of one to one computing with Chromebooks, virtualization of servers, migration to the cloud, digital signage, use of LMS and SIS to facilitate 24-7 learning any place and any time, single sign-on, data management from SIS to various software, multiple successful education television stations, video in the classroom, use of robotics, 3-D printing, augmented and virtual reality, Interactive teaching equipment, follow-me printing, and the use of AI.
