LinkedIn has begun to roll out a new and improved Activity section which greatly improves the way images, videos, newsletters, and documents are presented on profiles.
You’ll now be able to showcase more of what you create and choose the content you want your audience to see first. You are a video person? Highlight your videos to be seen first by your audience!

Of course, there are still some improvements to make, but Josh Haftel has promised that they strive for the best usability and optimization of our Activity Section, so stay tuned

Further more Keren Baruch shared in her post (see link in comments) that LinkedIn is going to introduce:

✅ One-click Newsletter subscribe (use the button wherever you want)
✅ Improved SEO for new and existing articles
✅ Newsletter Discovery, search for authors and their Newsletter will be highlighted

Normally when LinkedIn starts to optimize a certain feature, like now the Activity Section and Newsletters it is often followed by a wave of awesome new features to optimize the use of these features.

We will keep you posted!
Our advice? As soon as you have the new Activity Feature, optimize this section with your target audience in mind!

Your TAM isn't your ICP. 

You sell investors your TAM, the billion-dollar opportunity. 

HOWEVER, you rarely start by marketing to your TAM day 1. 

When you do this it leads to:

1.) Watered down messaging
2.) Wasted ad spend
3.) Poor quality leads

Then you are confused why: 

1.) Pipeline is down month over month
2.) Sales reps continue to miss quota
3.) The product team can't keep up with new product feature requests

Your TAM is your total addressable market...the total number of people that could be a fit for your product or service. 

TAM = total # of potential customers x annual contract value (ACV) 

You have to decide what groups of accounts/people in your TAM you will target first; aka your ICP. Duh, right? 

It may be physicians working at hospitals in the U.S. between $500M - $1B, that use EpicCare, etc., etc. As you product matures and as the market saturates, you may update the definition of your ICP expanding further into the TAM. 

You also don't sell to everyone single title in the organization, you likely sell to a buying committee made up of specific people. 

There are some in that buying committee that will come inbound and fill out your demo form and there are others that will get impressions from your ads but never convert. Both are valuable and both deserve focus. 

Before you start spending on ads, make sure you identify a clear segment inside of your TAM aka ICP to target where you have a strategic advantage. Then develop messaging and content for the given audience until you have saturated that segment with your solution. 

P.S. TAM = total addressable market and ICP = ideal client profile

P.P.S. You can use data providers like Zoom, Seamless, Lusha, Cognism, etc. to size your TAM however, make sure you review the accounts....many will not be ICP fits despite your filter criteria.
