This role involved the following:

-	Designing and implementing a highly scalable, performant set of micro-services using C#, .Net 6, DAPR, GraphQL, Kubernetes and Azure services such as Storage, Service Bus, CosmosDB and SQL.

-	Demonstrating knowledge of, and adopting, cloud design patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Event Sourcing, Pub-Sub and Retry.

-	Demonstrating knowledge of, and implementing mitigations to cater for, secure by design principals.

-	Containerization using Docker, Kubernetes, HELM, and Azure DevOps.

-	Working within a SCRUM team and taking the lead on Agile ceremonies where required.

-	Mentoring members of the wider project team on the implementation of key technologies used on the project such as the production of HELM Charts for deployment into Kubernetes.

-	Taking the lead on development of one of the only services live in the solution to date.  This service has so far proven to be resilient, of high quality and meets the customer’s expectation in terms of functionality and service levels.

As a Principal Application Developer at Fujitsu, I worked primarily within the Microsoft Business Applications unit delivering .NET Core and Azure Cloud based solutions within the public and private sectors.  

At the Principal level, I often wear numerous hats within a development squad for any given project:

-	A Solution Architect involved in pre-sales activities, producing technical designs and high-level design documents, engaging with client architects and design boards to seek solution approval before the implementation formally begins.

-	A Technical Lead responsible for the technical direction of the implementation, setting up of CI/CD pipelines using YAML, mentoring of junior staff and an advocate for best practice, including ensuring the team adhere to coding standards, SOLID principles, are not introducing vulnerabilities and have sufficient coverage of automated tests (Unit, Integration & Behavioural) following TDD where possible.

-	A Scrum Master responsible for guiding the team through an agile delivery and leading on scrum ceremonies.

As a Lead Developer at Jumar Technology, producing software for the Insurance sector, I performed the following tasks:

-	Act as a Technical Lead in cross functional Agile Scrum teams in the UK, India & Moldova.

Jaama Ltd is a market leading fleet management software and occupational road safety specialist.  Established in 2004, a continually growing team of developers has built an award winning n-tier, Windows Forms application with a SQL Server database as its main repository.  Since joining the team in 2006 I have been instrumental in designing and developing solutions for some of Jaama’s largest clients such as Amey, Serco and DHL Supply Chain. 
 
In 2013 a new technical lead role was created specifically for myself.  As technical lead I assume responsibility for the technical architecture vision of Jaama’s range of software products and steer technical work in that direction over time.   
 
The role involves a large amount of research into design patterns, best practices and new technologies.  The best architectural path for the development team is then prototyped, documented and presented to management for approval.  Once approved it is my responsibility to implement the core architectural changes, produce technical guidelines and specifications for the development team, and to be a mentor and technical leader to a team of over 40 people. 
 
Since taking the technical lead role I have re-written the core application framework, in C#, following SOLID principles allowing the development team to write more testable domain model code.  Through regular training and mentoring I have introduced new programming concepts to the development team such as Unit Testing with RhinoMocks and the Microsoft Test Framework, Inversion of Control with StructureMap and the Unit of Work and Repository patterns over Entity Framework.  I have also introduced the team to WebAPI 2 which has allowed us to begin producing RESTful APIs to expose business logic across our range of products.

Technical Lead Software Developer

Part of a team developing a market leading smart client windows forms fleet management application in VB.Net using Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Team Foundation Server and the Infragistics control suite.  This role covers the full development lifecycle and as a senior member of the team includes elements of requirements gathering, analysis and design, code reviews, mentoring of junior developers and writing business critical processes to help the company achieve ISO:9001 accreditation.

The software we develop has a strong financial core which has given me a working knowledge of business accounts.  Integration with 3rd Party systems is key and I have written many interfaces for tasks such as credit checking, processing invoices and converting data.

In addition to working on the company's flagship product I have solely produced the company's data conversion framework and application which enables the company to quickly process data from third parties.

Global Insurance Management Solutions

Senior member of a team developing a warranty and insurance claims system.  Employed to oversee the design and re-development of the company's existing systems and to provide guidance to other developers within the team.  Unfortunately changes within the business’ sister company (Global Insurance Management) meant that redevelopment work was put on hold indefinitely.
