π–π‘πšπ­β€™π¬ 𝐚 π©π’π«πšπ­πžβ€™π¬ 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐒𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐀𝐞𝐭𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭? A webinAAARRRR! ------- My name is Greg, and I am a former college baseball player turned marketing enthusiast. I also love Marvel Movies, hamburgers with a fried egg on it, and corny jokes like the one above. Professionally, I have 8+ years of marketing experience in the B2B/B2C space. In my opinion, marketing is the greatest career in the world, and I am truly grateful to have found my calling. But I didn’t actually start my career in marketing. π„πšπ«π₯𝐲 π‚πšπ«πžπžπ« I graduated with a B.A. in Psychology, then right after school jumped head first into the mental health field. I’ll never regret the two years I spent in this field, because the experience I gained was truly invaluable, and I’ve applied that experience in every phase of my career moving forward. However, I quickly learned that working on the front lines of the mental health field wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and I knew I was meant to do something else. π“π‘πž π“π«πšπ§π¬π’π­π’π¨π§ Through a series of trial and error, I was able to work in a few sales positions. I was a quick study and always performed really well in each role. But something was still missing, and I felt like each day I was just going through the motions. Then one day (by complete accident), I had the opportunity to sit in on a meeting with the marketing department of the company I was working for at the time. To this day I still don’t understand what happened or what they put in the water in that meeting…but it’s a day that I’ll never forget. It was the first time I was exposed to things like buyer personas, copywriting, webinar strategies, and automation platforms. MY MIND WAS BLOWN. It was like a new world that I didn’t know existed, but it was a world where I knew I finally belonged. 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐒𝐨𝐧 πƒπ’π¬πœπ¨π―πžπ«πžπ Since that day, my marketing career has spanned startups, mid-market businesses, and specialized boutique companies. I’ve worked with both B2B and B2C audiences, learning how to adapt and deliver results in each unique setting. It’s been a ride, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. But what I’ve discovered is that the projects I enjoy the most are customer marketing specific. Finding ways to connect with customers, improve their experience, and turn them into advocates is the kind of work that motivates me (especially when it’s for a company I truly believe in).
