I am Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNCB) with extensive experience caring for children in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Expert in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses in infants, children, and adolescents with cancer, immune deficiencies, and hematologic disorders. As a Nurse Practitioner, I provide comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings. I am a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant and work with supervision of a physician. I support the philosophies of the department of nursing as well as the medical staff. I developed a passion for working with diverse patient populations and underserved communities. I am determined to take on the task of providing optimal care and ensuring preventative health care and education to those who need it most. I have provided formal and impromptu education for the nurses in the clinic and infusion center to promote their expertise in providing care to the bone marrow transplant patients and those with immune deficiencies. I am also skilled in ordering lab studies, radiology tests and medications. I have the ability to collaborate with colleagues to foster a respectful and caring environment. I have CITI training and CPR/PALS certification. I have extensive experience with Children's Oncology Group (COG) and institutional clinical trials. I know exactly what it takes to deliver a project on time, within budget, and crucially, to the highest safety standard. I have been instrumental in managing multiple projects simultaneously throughout my career, including internationally, and have led cross-functional, multi-cultural projects to success even in the most challenging situations.
