"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Can you remember your teachers asking you that back in school? One thing's for sure. I didn't write down anything related to Marketing, Business Development or even Digital. I wanted to become a helicopter pilot for the coastguard or hospital. Then one day, I realised that I was scared of heights. I was never an academic at school. Most of the time, I wanted to entertain my classmates and win every school district sports' competition that I took part in. Spoiler alert, I won quite a few. But it was that drive to push forward, the competitor in me, which got me through school. I never got the best grades, but I did well enough to go up each year through sheer perseverance and hard work when it mattered most. What am I like in person? I'm someone that you would actually enjoy sitting next to in the plane. I have a chatty, energetic and proactive personality. I'm a networker at heart, and after living in five countries, I've got a lot of stories to tell. I'm a digitally-minded young professional, a go-getter, strategic thinker and problem solver. My sports enthusiasm has taught me to be a team motivator, and I'm always willing to help. So why do I get out of bed every morning and do what I do? For as long as I can recall, I have wanted to help people. I get so much energy out of helping others out, whether that's a friend, stranger or a business. I genuinely care about people and empathise with their stories. With my International Business and Marketing academic background, I decided to join a digital agency. First at DEPT©️, then at Wild Digital. What about my skillset? Well, I like to call myself a Marketing & Sales handyman. While at Dept, I had my hands in many jars. It's there that I learned the trade. From setting up lead generating Social Media and Google Ads campaigns to Social Selling, Event Management, Salesforce CRM and Project Management. At Wild Digital, I had to earn my keep on the strategic side of things to – think Social Media Strategy, Content Strategy and Marketing Funnel Journey, and most of the above. And next to that, the Business Development part too. Now at LinkedIn, I provide my customers with the ability to transform to modern selling through the usage of LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Do I always get it right? Not every time. But you can guarantee one thing. I'll bloody well try, never giving up. I try new things, test, learn and believe.
