When I exited my first tech start-up in 2018 I was exhausted. I had a healthy diet & strong exercise regime. But I had neglected my sleep, rest & recovery. It’s the foundation of health that we don't focus on. I started exploring the research around Circadian Rhythms, which are these deep biological processes that run our body on a 24-hour clock. A fundamental science that we are only just becoming aware of. I quickly realised that circadian rhythms are going to shape the health & wellness conversation over the next few decades. But currently, the market is full of gimmicky, passive products, that overwhelm people with data making them nervous about their sleep. Or ancient products such as bedding & mattresses which haven’t been innovated in over 50 years. I wanted to change this. So brought together an A-team of cutting-edge AI technologists, Oxford University scientists, leading product designers, hotel architects and software engineers. We interrogated every single mattress technology as the first step in building the world’s first Circadian Fitness company. By mixing a robust understanding of our psychology & deep biology with hard science and premium quality products we are revolutionising the sleep industry. Owl + Lark’s journey so far: - Won the Innovate UK Smart grant in 2023. - Sold over £1mil of products since inception. - On track to do £1mil in revenue this year. - Extensive product pipeline in development. - Partnered with a leading circadian Scientific Advisory Board - Development of hotel brand Cabin.
