I used to think that the best leaders were people with high levels of charisma. This led to me trying to always be the loudest, boldest, or funniest person in the room. I made it all about me. Over the last few years, I’ve learned that nobody wants to be led by someone like that. They want a servant leader. I wanted to learn more about this, so I decided to work at Wildsparq. At Wildsparq, we equip CEOs, HR leaders, & other executives with a strategy to develop their people as leaders. The strategy consists of two parts that happen each month. A 30-minute leadership lesson (through our online platform) with world-class content that you select for your people to go through. A 45-minute team meeting with their peers where they discuss their learnings and create action steps. Why the team meeting? People grow best within the context of COMMUNITY. Back to me… As I have been able to grow as a leader through doing Wildsparq and working here, I have also had the privilege of “selling” this to other organizations. I put “sell” in quotes because this doesn’t feel like a sale. It genuinely feels like an act of kindness to equip an organization with this strategy. ---------- I like to say that Wildsparq is my day job. My "night job" is equipping the next generation to learn to lead themselves. While I am extremely passionate about helping organizations have strategies for developing their people, it comes down to the individual to take ownership of their own growth. My primary way of speaking to young professionals is through my podcast, Wake Up & Lead. I mostly interview young professionals who are leading themselves at a high level. ---------- For those that care... I'll share a few things about myself below. ◼️Jesus is my savior. I am nothing without him and furthering his kingdom is my "Why." ◼️I’m married to Erica Dortch. She's the best human in the world and an incredible wedding photographer. ◼️ I'm a father to Mary Collins & I'm wrapped around her finger! ◼️I love fitness ➡️ Running & Lifting ◼️Nutrition is cool too. I didn't love fitness until I realized that nutrition is 70% of it... ◼️Singing is my jam ➡️ You won't see a solo from me, but harmony makes me happier than anything. A couple of things I say on a daily basis👇 ◼️"I don't have time" should be illegal to say. We make time for what's important. ◼️CONSISTENCY is the key to success in anything. ◼️Food is fuel. ◼️Not all readers are leaders but all leaders are readers. ◼️We criticize most what we understand least (Craig Groeschel). ◼️Be interested over interesting (Thanks Josh Swing).
