I'm Hannah, an elective home educator to my three young neurodiverse children, who also have other complicated health conditions. I am co-founder, alongside my husband, of a business called Paideia Maximus, which centres on spreading awareness on the importance of early years education and the existence of alternative educational pathways, with a focus on home education. I have assisted hundreds of parents over the last few years either within their early years' journey with their children, or with their decision to electively home educate, as well as those parents who have found themselves turning to emergency home education. My content also advocates for children's mental health and focuses on the link between this factor and academic success. I am currently writing a series of books for parents, caregivers, grandparents, and extended family members. The first book is now available to buy on Amazon, and concentrates on the importance of early years education, using our journey as an example. It highlights topics, themes, and philosophies that can hopefully be helpful to those starting out within the early years. The second manuscript is a glimpse behind the scenes of a life of a home educating family, answering commonly asked questions by the curious public and those considering the lifestyle. The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of alternative education pathways and how this can look and play out, with home education philosophies perhaps complimenting and enriching traditional schools. They can co-exist. The third manuscript is looking at the importance and power of communication and love behind the scenes of a SEN family. All three books are tied together with the over riding theme of placing children at the centre of their learning journeys, no matter what stage of life they are, no matter the circumstances or educational pathway chosen. Why am I writing these books? Simply, I was asked by the parents I have assisted over the years to write them.
