“What happened to sweet Hannah?”

When I stopped people-pleasing, it wasn’t well-received.

I chased approval for most of my early years, so when I met coaching in my 20’s — and realized I didn’t even know my own perspective or voice, everything in changed. 

Coaching taught me to trust myself and take my own advice.  And that I can help a lot more people if I stop performing and start being myself.

Now, as an ICF Mentor Coach, Coach Trainer, and Master Certified Coach, I help coaches and purpose-driven leaders do the same — grow with mastery, serve deeply, and build confidence rooted in authenticity.

I partner with coaches and leaders at every stage to:
-Clarify or reconnect to their purpose
-Strengthen their coaching presence and skill
-Build confidence in their voice and abilities
-Align their work and business with what matters most
-Create meaningful impact — without losing themselves in the process

My philosophy is simple: Be Yourself & Serve Others.

I believe you don’t have to choose between rigorous professional standards and authenticity. 
You can have both.

My approach blends high-level coaching mastery with deep respect for you as a human being:

“Hannah, David is gone.”
Sob. Heart dropped.
The ground was cold, but I didn’t feel it.
My head on my knees, my breath felt like a slippery fish I couldn’t catch.
No. No. No.
I refused for it to be true.
But it still was.
Your brain gone, your body still warm.
Me, two thousand miles away from home.
Too late to say goodbye. 
I couldn’t help you.
I couldn’t save you.
But I can remember you.
Nothing prepares you to lose someone.
Nothing prepares you to each year grow older than your big brother.
Nothing prepares you for people who say “it’s been years, why don’t you get over it?”
Nothing prepares you for hearing a laugh like his and your heart stops for a moment.
Nothing prepares you for grief because there’s nothing else like it.
It’s January 2026.
It’s been 5 years.
The ground is still cold.
You’re still gone.
And I’ll never be the same.
Five years absent on earth,
Five years resident in heaven.

Now that it's January I'm officially stepping into my position as Director of Marketing at ICF Tennessee!

You made it through the 10 darkest weeks of the year.

This is your reminder to go on the coffee date.

Yes, they will fight over who got the biggest piece of the chocolate chip loaf.
Yes, they will be loud.
Yes, your coffee will get cold (I’m a mom, of course it does)

Go anyway.

Not every meaningful moment is quiet.
Not every good choice is efficient.
Some of the most important ones are messy, noisy, and full of crumbs.

Don’t miss it.

I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the emotional whiplash of grieving my brother’s life and celebrating my birthday within the same 48 hours.

But that’s life, isn’t it?

This week is heavy for me. So instead of not showing up, I wrote about what I'm currently feeling instead of what I had planned to write.

Kendall and I have been connected on LinkedIn for a while - thanks to Darren McKee, who somehow always manages to introduce me to many of my favorite humans on this platform.

New Year’s Day feels different than New Year’s Eve.

Last night was busy (believe me, I was at the zoo with the kids).

Today is honest.

There’s less pressure. Less urgency to have it all figured out. Just a quiet sense that something new is possible — even if you don’t know what it is yet.

If you woke up without resolutions,
without a word of the year,
without a shiny new calendar waiting to be filled…

you’re not behind.

New Year’s Day isn’t asking you to perform.
It isn’t a deadline.
It’s a pause.

A chance to check in.
To notice what you’re carrying.
And to choose how you want to move forward.

You don’t have to decide the whole year today.

You only have to decide who you want to be TODAY.

And then tomorrow,
you get to choose again.

That’s how years are actually built.

If you choose a word of the year, you need to consider this:

Do you need a passive or active word? Both?

A passive word is more about turning inward. 
Words like nuture or ponder are passive words.

An active word is more about putting energy out, putting YOURSELF out there. Words like motivate or focus are active words.

You might actually need 2 words. 
One passive and one active.

Questions to consider: 
What do I want to see on the inside?
What do I want to see on the outside?

CTA - What's your word or words of the year? Passive or active?
