Data analyst working in medical research, helping clinicians and allied health professionals assess patient treatment needs and results through data. Working closely with consultants and other key stakeholders to understand the benefits and effects of various treatments to guide patient management through data driven insights, giving us a clear analytical picture of what we do not see behind the data. Key achievements: Currently, I am the lead Data Manager for the UK Adult Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) Registry, which has over 100 hospitals/sites entering data on patients with this rare disorder. At present there are over 5,000 patients recruited. Data analyst for various projects and abstracts presented at National and International medical conferences (see publications list). Stakeholder management – working closely with clinicians, funders and researchers to provide best solutions for capturing and analysing data. Managed to streamline the ITP registry and implement standard operating protocols (SOPs) to guide hospitals on the recruitment and data entry process of the study in line with Good Clinical Practice. This has facilitated us to add many more sites to the registry and significantly boost recruitment. Upgraded the study database (REDCap) and implemented a query resolution workflow to improve accuracy and completeness of data entry. As a result, when it comes to data analysis, we have fewer missing data points and the data is reliable. Upskilled in data and statistical analysis using R/RStudio, Python and SQL enabling me to produce papers and abstracts from the data in the ITP Registry without requiring to spend time/money on external help. Implemented new protocols within a few weeks to add remote consenting processes due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Excited to continue to grow my knowledge and skills in the world of data, particularly in predictive analytics using AI and machine learning models.
