1. The Headline

Most coaches use their headline to describe who they are, not what they do.

Your headline should tell people the transformation you help them achieve. 

That’s the line that gets someone to click your profile instead of skipping past it.

2. The About Section

This is where most people write their life story or a long list of qualifications.

But clients don’t read your About to get to know you, they read it to see if you understand the problem they’re trying to solve.

A strong About section talks to the reader first, then shows them your process, your wins, and why you’re someone they can trust.

When this part is written well, people feel like you’re already helping them before they even reach out.

3. The Featured Section
Most coaches either leave this section empty or fill it with random links.

Your Featured section is supposed to act like your storefront.

It should highlight your best proof, case studies, client wins, testimonials, or a free resource that warms people up.

When someone lands on your profile and sees real results, they instantly understand why your work matters.

When these three sections work together, your profile becomes a funnel, not a formality.

It mainly tracks one thing: how long someone stays before they scroll away.

That’s what we call dwell time.

A lot of career coaches lose reach not because their knowledge is lacking, but because they jump straight into teaching.

They share frameworks, tips, and strategies before they’ve built any emotional connection with the reader.

So even if the post is helpful, it doesn’t hold anyone’s attention long enough for LinkedIn to push it further.

People connect with something that makes them feel seen first, and then they’re ready to learn from you.

And LinkedIn rewards that because it reflects how real conversations work.

It’s all about writing in a way that makes someone pause and think, “Oh, this is for me.”

When your reader feels understood, they stay a little longer.
