Hassan is an Associate Managing Director at Kroll, leveraging more than 15 years of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt advisory, private placement, and financial restructuring experience, advising private equity and venture capital firms, companies, and lenders.

Hassan is also a Startup Mentor at Techstars, Outlier Ventures, Hub71 and Startupbootcamp. 

Hassan's diverse sector experience includes Technology, Media, Telecom, FinTech, and Blockchain, with experience across a range of transaction sizes across UAE, Saudi, UK and Europe.

Prior to joining Kroll, Hassan held several investment banking-related positions at PWC, EY, Gleacher Shacklock, and Cornerstone Capital in the UK and UAE.

Having worked at tier one organisations in the UK and the UAE, Hassan has developed exceptional experience in investment banking, private equity and venture capital. 

He has extensive experience delivering complex transactions working across the complete transaction lifecycle from origination to structuring, deal execution, negotiation and completion.

When Private Equity Becomes Private Credit.

Some of the largest investment managers have shifted their focus from acquiring companies to lending to them.

The shift is so significant that several leading firms, including Apollo, Blackstone, Brookfield and KKR, private credit assets under management have now surpassed their private equity platforms, according to Gain.pro.

Private credit has been one of the fastest-growing asset classes over the past few years, providing an alternative source of financing for companies and private equity sponsors facing tighter access to traditional bank lending.

The market’s growth has been driven by the pullback of traditional banks, increased institutional demand for private debt exposure and the appeal of relatively higher yields.

For limited partners, private credit funds offer higher risk-adjusted returns and more regular cash flows through interest and amortisation payments compared to other strategies.

Ultimately, performance depends on how managers position themselves in the capital structure, whether through senior secured loans, subordinated debt, or structured credit strategies.
