Silentus

Silentus helps high skilled workers improve their personal productivity and wellbeing, by enabling them with a smart app to increase focus and beat procrastination.

Silentus, a Founder Institute alumn, is available for Android and iOS, and joined Station F (world’s largest startup campus based in Paris) as part of INSEAD LaunchPad.

•	Registered Limited Liability Company (Besloten Vennootschap – B.V.) at Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
•	Developed and implemented business’s strategic plan on sales, product development and go to market. Define, execute and revisit the strategies required to achieve Silentus growth plans and operating objectives.
•	Recruited Technical Co-Founder (CTO) in April 2022. Discussed, agreed and signed Co-Founder documents including NDA and shares vesting schedule.
•	Interviewed, negotiated and recruited freelance app developer in late 2021 to prepare for launch of Beta test in early 2022.
•	Established objectives and timeframe for Beta test in April 2022. Onboarded around 200 testers to gather real-life feedback. Used input to enhance app prototype and prepared for Go-Live on main marketplaces.
•	Lead product development efforts. Successfully launched Silentus app for Android in August 2022 and iOS in November same year.
•	Reached more than 1,300 downloads in first 3 months in the market with no investment on marketing.
•	Applied and got accepted to INSEAD LaunchPad incubator at Sation F in Paris, the world’s largest startup campus).
•	Pitch and own current fundraising activities for pre-seed round in Q1 2023.
•	Perform ongoing market and customer research, interviewing more than 300 high-skilled professionals to date, to understand their pain points and challenges.
•	Organize personal productivity and well-being workshops for communities of high-skilled professionals in Amsterdam.
•	Coordinate financial control activities with local accounting firm, overseeing P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow statements. Keep the company due diligence ready.

Founder & CEO

Qullqi

Qullqi was an e-commerce for sustainable and handmade women’s accessories from Peru for sale in Europe. Launched in 2018 in The Netherlands and grew to ship orders to Germany and the UK too. Shut down operations in 2021 after selling all inventory on hand and to start full-time work on Silentus.

• Registered sole-proprietorship at Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK).
• Successfully passed Fairmined organization certification process in 2018 to become a member brand (second in The Netherlands). Re-certified later in 2020 for a second term.
• Established lean and cost-efficient business model that allowed for allocation of 20% of each sale to the support of social initiatives in home country Peru.
• Visited local ateliers in Lima, Peru and recruited three experienced artisans to bring to life proprietary designs.
• Launched 2019 and 2020 collections in collaboration with professional jewelry designers in Peru and The Netherlands.
• Exhibited at local fairs in both The Netherlands (Trademart Retailbeurs Utrecht 2020) and Germany (Schöne Bescherung 2019).
• Successfully passed 3-year audit from Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst). Provided detailed evidence of sales and purchases for entire years 2018, 2019, 2020.
• Signed agreement with local NGO in Peru to collaborate on social projects. Successfully opened a public library for kids in rural area in Peru in 2019, and provided health and food aid to elderlies during Covid-19 outbreak in 2020.

Owner

Boluda Towage

• Joined KotugSmit Towage Finance team in February 2019 right when company confirmed acquisition of the whole business from Boluda Towage Europe. Supported due diligence process during the next 4 months.
• Owned, oversaw and monitored financial planning and control cycle within Northwest Europe region, including The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and UK, plus subsidiary in Malta, and ensured proper consolidation of financial reporting both internally and externally (both IFRS and Dutch GAAP), in compliance with company guidelines.
• Led consolidation, delivery, analysis and clarification of financial data at region level and per area and reporting unit. Prepared financial reports, budgets, cost reports and financial forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
• Analyzed regional business performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, presenting data in written, tabular and graphical formats to highlight and explain key issues to management. Improved on monthly reporting deck for C-Suite and Supervisory Board.
• Established first-ever month-end closing schedule for the Northwest Europe region. Harmonized financial operations and internal control environment and monitored timely execution and quality of deliverables.
• Simplified depreciation schedule tracking systems for investments on tugboats (dry-dock activities) and other assets under construction (AUC), prior to integration with new reporting and consolidation system.
• Coordinated and played key role on ERP implementation of SAP BPC system across Northwest Europe region. Led weekly update calls to show progress towards Spanish Headquarters and external Consultants, and ensured proper alignment between old and new system as well as availability of financial and management information per are and reporting unit.
• Acted as main contact for local auditors. Provided backup details for consolidated financial statements.
• Provided leadership and coaching to finance staff in the various areas.

Manager Reporting and Consolidation

TomTom

• Led BU Global OPEX FP&A activities, including budget and long-term planning. Focused on continuous development of business reports and reporting processes for strategic plans, budgets, forecasts, monthly- and year-end results; ensured compliance with reporting and analysis of relevant KPIs following Group Control framework.
• Acted as finance business partner towards BU Board and direct reports. Partnered with VP’s and incorporated strategic plans, objectives, and appropriate assumptions. Influenced business through factual insights and provided financial support, advice and guidance for decision making, including marketing investments.
• Consolidated, prepared, and presented timely and in an accurate manner management account reports to BU Head of Finance, Group Controller, and Group CFO. Summarized commentary on main findings and deviations versus plans every month-end closing, quarterly forecast, and budget cycle.
• Contributed to business direction by reviewing monthly financial results with business managers and provided insights and analysis to improve business performance. Enabled fact-based decisions through constant reviews of results and challenged Managers. Participated in monthly Sales VP’s meeting at HQ office in Amsterdam.
• Worked with Marketing VP’s on investment memorandums following guidance from Group Control; presented campaigns’ financial benefits. Prepared recommendations and alternatives based on financial analysis for business to maximize sales, margin, turnover and ROI.
• Held quarterly meetings with HR to review recruiting needs and compare latest outlook versus original plans. Developed planning template to increase accuracy on FTE’s planning, moving away from a run rate per cost center and used actual expenses on an individual basis.
• Supported IFRS15 restatements for the years 2016 and 2017 as well as planning for 2018 from the OPEX perspective following guidance from Corporate Accounting and Group Control departments.

Business Controller

• Worked closely with Sales and Operations departments on preparation and review of yearly and quarterly plans. Prepared Consumer BU 2016 budget, and Long-term Financial Model for 2017-2020. Presented key highlights and changes versus prior year to BU VP Finance.
• Coordinated and led all planning cycles for EMEA Sports products, including scheduling meetings, driving input to a standard format, reviewing and challenging business assumptions and diving into variance analysis.
• Delivered planning and P&L variance analysis for Sports products on time in full, in accordance with reporting calendars for month-end, forecast, long-term plans, budget. Contributed with commentary on key findings and deviations for presentations to Management Team. Standardized analytics tool for Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
• Owned Content & Services global planning cycles, operational and IFRS, focused on consistency and accuracy. Developed financial model for Online sales budgeting, including turnover deferrals and releases calculations, ensuring compliance with IFRS reporting guidelines on subscriptions accounting.
• Established as key FP&A contact point for Sales Supports largest EMEA regions; worked jointly to increase accuracy and integrity of back-end rebates, stock protection, promo funding liability process. Supported regions with regards to back-end rebates structure and liabilities, focus on margin analysis, selling expenses control, and planning.
• Conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis of Sales department’s data used in new business opportunities’ assessment. Prepared and discussed business case for Retailers Online Portal project, resulting in potential cumulative savings of €5m for 2016–2019 period.
• Monitored and forecasted key economic and financial variables, including foreign exchange rates EUR/USD and EUR/GBP, and manufacturing costs from vendors in China.

Financial Analyst

The Kraft Heinz Company

·	Identified and diagnosed key issues on supply chain processes and expenses for Russia and Latin America regions. Analyzed and found €3m saving opportunities on 2015’s EBITDA. Partnered with regions’ representatives to follow up on their implementation.
·	Worked closely with VP Global Logistics on set up of Global Affiliate Trading Department and development of a robust Corporate Policy for intercompany supply chain operations. Presented to relevant stakeholders and collected supporting data to demonstrate 97% compliance during first 3 months after implementation.
·	Collected, updated, and reported weekly and monthly Finance and Operations indicators on intercompany supply chain, ensuring appropriate working capital level and 98% compliance on customer service. Presented persuasive and coherent arguments to VP Global Logistics to explain deviations and action plans to improve performance.
·	Collaborated with regions’ Finance, Logistics and Production areas to seek, analyze and promote recommendations to improve intercompany supply chain operations. Designed analytics to identify potential financial benefits .
·	Developed and maintained an ongoing database for intercompany imports facts including products’ costs, mark-ups and logistics charges among affiliates. Acted as gatekeeper for regions’ business cases validation with focus on assumptions and up-to-date figures.

Navico Logistics Europe B.V.

·	Developed robust process to consolidate regional financial and commercial monthly forecasts and annual plans. Conducted quantitative analysis on foreign exchange rates and marketing campaigns’ results. Prepared 2014 regional budget accounting for €100m.
·	Designed and executed monthly analytics on regional revenue and profit margin per country and product type. Partnered with regional CFO to identify main deviations and prepare internal management reports for distribution to C-suite leadership and budget owners, including justifications and supporting documentation.
·	Performed commercial and financial analysis at country, customer type and brand level and ensured accuracy, completeness and timeliness of periodic and ad-hoc management reports, in liaison with regional Business Controller. Prepared daily order intake report for Management Board including latest estimate for regional revenue.
·	Coordinated and prepared monthly forecast review meetings. Worked collaboratively with Sales and Logistics managers to discuss regional targets, using supporting data as historical, market feedback, phase-outs and new product introduction plans.

Finance and Sales Analyst

Vopak

·	Stayed abreast of current and developing state regulations and compliance issues on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) market. Recommended and ensured adoption of corporate and international standards during improvement project co-executed by employer and Peru’s largest state-owned oil and gas company, focused on domestic market of 4m+ households
·	Developed and maintained an ongoing system to monitor and evaluate operational KPIs on a weekly basis. Provided leadership within Operations Department to identify, quantify, implement and measure specific improvement initiatives focused on enhancement of customer service levels

Operations Supervisor

·	Followed up on prior Corporate Audit findings; ensured interrelated administrative corrective actions were executed accurately and timely. Planned and conducted preliminary own assessment that involved the analysis of interrelated administrative and operational processes. Developed work plans; coordinated daily fieldwork and project team activities. Achieved 84% compliance, up from 68% in 2008
·	Led team efforts in developing guidelines and internal policies for implementation of Procurement Department to ensure savings goals and objectives achievement, including 15% annual reduction on operational expenses

Performance Improvement Coordinator

Information Technology Assurance Assistant

Anheuser-Busch InBev

•	Managed domestic and foreign suppliers and contractors required for industrial projects. Evaluated technical and commercial proposals using quantitative and qualitative analysis to determine best supplier, aimed at negotiating at least 10% discount on initial offer. Managed import budget for US$4MM
•	Designed and developed plan and methodology to reduce US$20MM unauthorized purchases within two breweries and seven sales distribution centers. Resulted in a cost reduction of 10% in the first quarter after implementation
•	Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers before create purchase orders as required by internal users achieving 100% compliance according to deadlines agreed under Service Level Agreements
•	Implemented standardized spare parts acquisition processes for preventive maintenance program in Latin America, including Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela and Dominican Republic
•	Led team of 5 analysts responsible for spare parts and industrial services acquisitions. Achieved 0% backlog for both OpEx and CapEx acquisitions

Awarded Rotterdam School of Management’s “’I WILL’ Journey Award’ in April 2022 for a (volunteers) recycling initiative in Chiclayo, Peru. Currently 20+ households signed up to change their habits towards waste management. Founder of Silentus, an anti-procrastination app for workers and students, optimizing homeworking to help them regain 500hrs per year on average and set boundaries between work hours and personal time (maximize time and energy levels).
