KidsX Head Of Operations

As the Accelerator Lead, I have been building and running the following digital health accelerators and innovation challenges to work closely with startup founders in scaling their business development and technical strategies along with implementing startup solutions within hospitals: 
1) KidsX is an international consortium of pediatric hospitals focused on improving digital health innovation through collaboration. KidsX runs an annual accelerator program pairing top digital health startups with leading pediatric hospitals. 
2) The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Healthcare Accelerator delivered by KidsX works with selected startups to build and scale their cloud solution, to provide access to both the AWS and KidsX global networks in the public sector, and to prepare for designing POCs and partnerships.
3) Augment Therapy is an AR gamified tool to improve physical and occupational therapy for kids. This solution was implemented at CHLA within 4 different departments.
4) The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Innovation Challenge is a grant competition for community members to design, build, and pilot interventions that can increase the vaccination rates in children and teenagers in Los Angeles County. Teams of startups, nonprofits, CBOs, faith-based organizations, etc. are trained to become innovators.
5) The Press Ganey KidsX Accelerator is avenue for startups to start using Press Ganey’s data and tools to enhance and further validate their product’s data models, gain access to investor and SMEs, and have potential partner collaboration opportunities with top children's hospitals.

As a Managed Care Strategy Consultant, I guide clients in optimizing their participation performance in commercial and government programs by developing data analytics for their current payor contracts in order to understand their relative market reimbursement levels. I work on strategizing a payor contract negotiation by conducting contract reviews, client interviews, and pricing strategy and serve as a liaison between the provider and payor. I identify revenue opportunities for self-funded employers and built the strategy for PPO product. I created a firm-wide catalog of internal and external databases for managed care resources.

Managed Care Strategy Consultant

Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin

Directly working with the Chief of Health Learning Systems and Chief Intelligence Officer, I led the organization and analysis of patient-reported outcomes (PRO) metrics in hopes of bettering the patient experience and health, creating more valuable data sets, and becoming eligible for the switch from merit-based incentive payment system (MIPS) to MACRA’s advanced alternative payment models (APMs). APMs will allow for a more cost-efficient delivery model using IPUs for Medicaid patients who have comorbidities. I assisted in the development of a progress tracker for the patient that contains validated measures along with unvalidated measures. I supported the planning of the integration of electronic health records (EHRs) and technologies at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas. On top of expediting these workflows, I co-founded the medical school's first formalized internship (now known as Health Leadership Apprenticeship) program. I managed and served as the strategist for all eight enrichment programs.

University Co-op

The University Co-Op is a not-for-profit retail store with a mission to give back to the University. Elected by the University of Texas' student body, I represented the student's voice on an eleven-member Board of Directors, which also was composed of professors and community leaders, and served as Co-Vice Chairman. I worked closely with the CEO, CFO, and CMO to establish operational strategies, institute technological and creative innovations, and property management. I incorporated a focus on diversity by encouraging company involvement within the community as the Chair for the Special Requests Committee, designated to distribute $30,000 to student organizations and academic awards.

C.D. Doyle Clinic

C.D. Doyle Clinic provides limited acute care and social work services to the indigent population of Austin, Texas. To increase the funding sources and legitimacy of this clinic, I recruited a team to conduct research on the process of incorporation and composed the bylaws and constitution. In result, I was able to attain legal nonprofit status in the State of Texas.
