It’s the 3rd Dec 2008 and I receive a call from my boss, which started... "There is no easy way to say this" Those 7 words changed the trajectory of my working life. With 2 children under 3 and the deepest darkest recession raging around the world, and equivalent part-time learning & development jobs (like the one I was just about to be laid off from) were rarer than a hen’s tooth, I was definitely down.
