Trust is the best "feature" you can have in your software.

And I don't think it matters how it looks.

Trust is earned in a lot of different ways, but what's challenging is how trust is maintained and sustained in EVERY way.

I guess what I mean is you can do one thing right and earn trust from your customer, but you then have to do everything right after that to hold on to that trust. 

But I think overall trust takes a little more effort these days. 

I was planning on listing out a bunch of ways to earn trust, but I need to think on it a bit further. 

For now though, a lot of my questions around building software has shifted to "does this build trust?:

- Does X build trust between me and my customer? 
- Does Y build trust between my customer and my software? 
- Does Z build trust between my customer and my customer's customer?

If you're sending your most important content through email threads...
You're creating an average experience, whatever your content looks like.
And if it's buried in random attachments, that's even worse.

Our delivery matters as much as what we are delivering.

- How many times have we experienced a broken Calendly link? 
- How many times have we clicked a CTA on a LinkedIn profile that's a 404 error? 
- How many times have we TRIED to search for that random PDF case study from a vendor? 
- How many times have we re-asked for the latest version of the proposal? 
- How many times have we jumped to a Help article with a broken YouTube link? 

Everything matters because whether we like it or not, we only get one shot at making an impression.

And by the way, remember that you actually have something meaningful to say (sometimes I have to remind myself that). 

Let's try to give ourselves the best chance for our value story to "hit" the first time AND every time.

When you share content like everyone else, you look like everyone else.
