As the Head of Operations at Simply Commerce, I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of business operational support, ensuring the optimisation and effectiveness of processes, products, and systems. With a focus on delivering operational excellence, I play a pivotal role in the financial management of the business, providing data-driven trend analysis to inform strategic investments and tactical expenditures.

Managing a team of direct reports in Marketing, Talent Acquisition, and Office Management, I am dedicated to their performance and development. I successfully onboard office staff when required, maintaining efficient operations and keeping expenses within budgetary limits.

To drive sales enablement, I continuously seek and implement improvements through the effective utilisation of technology and existing systems. By bringing in projects on time and within budget, I contribute to the seamless operation of the office, ensuring our team performs at their best.

In support of the sales team, I create and develop sales content, share enablement best practices, and design comprehensive training programs. Collaborating with the leadership team, I contribute to the development, execution, optimisation, and assessment of our sales enablement program. By effectively communicating the enablement strategy and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the leadership team, I align our efforts towards achieving sales objectives.

An integral part of my role involves providing comprehensive onboarding and training programs for the sales team, ensuring their readiness and effectiveness. Utilising performance data, I identify knowledge and skill gaps across the sales team and curate a robust training library to address these needs.

Head of Operations

As the Business Operations Manager at Simply Commerce, I played a pivotal role in driving the company towards the achievement of its long and short-term goals while ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations. Guided by our three company core values, I consistently made decisions that prioritised the support and success of our clients, candidates, suppliers, and employees.

In this role, my responsibilities encompassed various critical aspects of business operations. I spearheaded internal hiring processes, overseeing the employee life cycle and ensuring that our workforce remained strong and dynamic. By negotiating terms and managing HR processes, I fostered positive relationships with external stakeholders and optimised our partnerships. 

Notable projects I successfully led included the project management of the office expansion in Germany, which involved meticulous planning, coordination, and execution to facilitate our growth initiatives. Moreover, I proactively introduced new technologies to streamline our operations and support our continued expansion. A significant accomplishment was the creation and rollout of our new company values, aligning the organisation with a shared vision and fostering a positive work culture.

An essential aspect of my role was cultivating a positive employee culture. I continuously sought opportunities to further develop our business culture, ensuring that every employee took pride in working for Simply Commerce and enjoyed their job. The success of these efforts was evident in a recent quarterly employee engagement poll, where 100% of employees expressed their willingness to recommend Simply Commerce as a great place to work. To sustain and enhance our culture, I regularly introduced new initiatives and organised events that fostered camaraderie and engagement among our team members.

Business Operations Manager

In my role as Executive Assistant and Business Operations at Simply Commerce, I had the privilege of providing comprehensive executive assistance and administrative support to the CEO. Working closely with the CEO, I executed a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that were crucial to the smooth operation and growth of the company.

An integral part of my responsibilities was managing diaries with precision and efficiency. By closely monitoring schedules and proactively resolving conflicts, I optimised the CEO's time and ensured that appointments and meetings were effectively prioritised. This strategic approach to diary management played a vital role in enhancing productivity and enabling the CEO to focus on critical tasks and decision-making.

In addition, I took charge of preparing and analysing information ahead of executive team meetings, appointments, and presentations. This involved conducting thorough research, compiling data, and generating insightful reports that aided the executive team in making informed decisions. By delivering accurate and well-organiaed information, I contributed to the efficiency and effectiveness of these crucial meetings and presentations.

My role as Executive Assistant and Business Operations demanded exceptional organisational skills and resourcefulness, which allowed me to consistently deliver tasks to the highest possible standard. With a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset, I ensured that all assigned tasks were completed efficiently and met the company's expectations.

Private Household

After leaving college, I embarked on an  career as a Personal Assistant, where I honed my skills and gained invaluable experiences over a remarkable span of almost 7 years. Throughout my journey, I had the privilege of working with several high-profile families in prestigious locations, including London, Berkshire, Milan, and Sicily.

In my role as a Personal Assistant, I undertook a diverse range of responsibilities that encompassed event organisation, meticulous planning of overseas trips, and efficient coordination of various tasks. Additionally, I had the opportunity to liaise with and manage a team of dedicated household staff, ensuring seamless operations and fostering a harmonious work environment. Moreover, I actively participated in property viewings and spearheaded a successful house moves, showcasing my ability to handle complex logistical challenges.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role was the trust bestowed upon me by these families. I was entrusted with the care and well-being of their children, as well as the safeguarding of their prized possessions and properties. This level of trust not only exemplified my dependability but also reinforced my commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

I had to consistently demonstrate self-motivation, exceptional organisational skills, and unwavering trustworthiness. The nature of my work required me to be proactive, adaptable, and resourceful, as I often navigated dynamic situations and managed multiple priorities simultaneously.

Personal Assistant

For a long time, I felt really isolated in my recruitment operations role. You know, you don’t know what you don’t know, and that was definitely the case for me.

But I was always eager to improve, to be better, and to do better.

I desperately wanted to connect with others who were in the same boat as me, doing exactly what I was doing. And in 2021, I struggled to find a community that would support me because I was tasked with implementing Bullhorn Automation.

Despite my enthusiasm, my lack of data, marketing knowledge and copywriting skills made it challenging to create automations that truly delivered results.

It took a while, but by surrounding myself with the right people, I was able to upskill myself, deliver value to the business, and get results.
