#March4GOOD is our virtual race to help raise funds to build our first Transformation Kitchen™.

Transformation Kitchen™ is a training production kitchen and fast-casual lunch designation within the heart of Hudson Valley, NY, to reskill typically underserved communities that are in need of living wage opportunities, at no cost to the individual participant. 

Transformation Kitchen™ will demonstrate to other industries experiencing skills and workforce shortages how upskilling, re-skilling and providing a safe space for those who are typically underrepresented and overlooked in the workforce, can help industry and employers address these issues.  

This program addresses building stronger communities, healthy citizens, breaking down food insecurity, helping with re-entry to communities and showing other businesses, especially those within the service industry, how to create financially successful companies that put people first through providing engaged workspaces and living wages to their teams. 

The success of this program is greater than the 60+ students per year that will graduate. It's also about the families and communities that will be impacted, and the rippling effect it will have on them.

Kim, it has been a while since we last spoke, but I wanted to let you know that your presence continues to make an impact in my life.

I'm still amazed by what it means to have this space at our new community center. Today, we have a dentist treating 14 patients, an optometry clinic fitting 58 patients for glasses and a training session with 20 women in our family business development initiative. If we add in all of the kids and family members, there are more than 100 people here today. This building will continue to provide infinite blessings to thousands of people. Thanks for making it possible!

As a full-time single parent for over 8 years, I've been the primary caregiver for my kids for 300-330 days a year. 

From being a driver to a meal maker, breadwinner to bedtime enforcer, cuddler to disciplinary, what can’t I do!?

It's been incredibly challenging, yet also incredibly rewarding to be there for my kiddos growth and personal development. 

Being a single parent has given me grit and grace, and allowed me to lean into more of myself and my capabilities. It's not always easy, but the hard path often leads to the best invitations. 

So cheers 🍻 to all the parents out there, whether working or not, single or not, know that you are doing an amazing job. 

It's tough, but we are all forged through our path of parenthood. Wear it with pride!

Have you ever met someone who seemed to change the course of your life? 

I can probably name a handful of people who have been that for me and I can attest Kimberly Brady, M.A. is one of those people. 

At her lowest, she's your rock

* When life gives you something unfair - best not to waste it in despair but leverage the pain, trials, and hardships as a way to move forward. 
* Mental Toughness is the ability to focus on the next most important thing
* Ask yourself when you are feeling stuck, uncomfortable, or petty - this situation "compared to what" and see how that shifts you out of a negative headspace to one of gratitude.

What qualities do you look for in a friend? 

Loyalty, honesty, and a shared history are or inside joke…might hit the top of the list?

These attributes are what we often seek in a brand, product, or service. 

As consumers (aka humans), we want to feel a sense of belonging and connection with the companies we support. 

As employees, we might crave a similar need for a positive and impactful workplace experience. 

The desire to belong seems to be woven into the fabric of our shared humanity, both inside and outside of ‘business’. 

It's what creates bonds between friends and colleagues too. 

So the next time you're in a meeting or interview, pause & consider how important it is for you to feel that same sense of connection and belonging and see how we can infuse small doses into our interactions. 

And next time you're evaluating a brand or product, ask yourself if it provides a similar feeling of _______ and _______ that you expect from your closest friends?

At the end of the day, we all want to serve and be served. 

It's a huge part of being human. 

So let's strive to create a similar sense of community in our lives, from the office to our more personal relationships. 

Because in the end, we're all brothers and sisters from other mommas/misters.

What does it take to live like no one else?

To break molds? 

To defy odds?

As a single mom, I should be living in poverty, no?

When I left my marriage in 2015 I didn’t have a degree, I hadn’t worked full time in almost 7 years, and I lost my job at the church. 

I left on an airplane with our two suitcases each (thank you Southwest Airlines) 

I started college again 
I applied and interviewed and got rejected, a lot. 

The church I was attending at the time was demoing a building to remodel and I offered to work every day I could before or after class. I made 600$ a month and worked my ass off. 

I took out additional student loans to pay rent/food while I fought a divorce and child support. 

Then, the pastor of that church, introduced me to Willem (Hein) van Wyk  who gave a no name, no work history, struggling single mom a chance. 

I worked my ass off for them too and earned raises quickly, promotion, remote work so I no longer had to pay expenses for all day childcare. 

Today, I live debt free and have a financial and career future that I never thought would be possible. Nearly 8 years ago I would have never seen today. 

Keep fighting 
Keep networking 
Keep moving

I don’t think sales is a hard job 

I think management is hard
I think company projections are hard
I thionk quotas are hard
I think being vc backed it’s hard. 

There are a lot of factors that can make sales feel hard, I have been there, felt it. 

But, at the end of the day to sell is to serve and I think being of service with your product or solution is easy.

Do what you say 
Ask good questions

As AI continues to advance, we must consider how it can be used to enhance our lives. 

As a parent with two children in the public school system….

One area AI could make a significant impact is in education. 

With one teacher and 33 students in a single classroom, it's impossible to meet every student's needs in a 60-minute timeframe. 

This is where AI tutoring and teacher enablement come in, allowing struggling students to receive the support they need. 

It's important to recognize that AI shouldn't replace human relationships, but rather enhance our capacity. 

As we move forward, we must ensure that AI is used for the betterment of our ability, not for negative gain.

build, build up, construct, form, create, establish, set up, put together.

We have the capacity to both own and rewrite our forged stories the ones that are real and the ones we have fabricated. 

One of the most powerful reframing statements I have found is "what if" and as my dear friend Kofi . says "what if...it works"

My brother was always the kindest and most gentle human I have ever met even when we fought as kids I never worried he would "hurt" me - it just wasn't in him. 

Undiagnosed mental illness 
PTSD from serving in the military 
6 years in prison because of mandatory minimum descending 

He has been out of prison, clean from drugs, and on a positive track to being healthy with the right doctors and medications for his diagnosis. 

He had a hellish time securing housing, employment, and support - I can't imagine how that would have looked for him without a support network and family. 

He would have loved a life-changing program like Transformation Kitchen and what Chason Forehand is building with his nonprofit.

In 2017 I graduated college as a single parent. 

I had over 40,000 in credit card and loan debt. 

2018 I made a promise to start paying it off to be debt free. 

2019 I bought my first house - sold it in 2020 paid off my car and credit cards 

2020- started investing 

2021 bought a new house and in 2024 sold it to make some financial and personal moves. 

2024- Im nearly debt free besides a mortgage.

I have savings and investments. 

2029 I won’t have a mortgage. 

I’m a single mom, I have never made more than 100k and most years between 30-70k dollars. 

I share this to say- you might be HERE (in debt, struggling, unsure) but a choice today builds for tomorrow.
