This role enabled me to gain a greater insight into the workplace dynamics of a small, local business – I was able to contribute in several ways, by bringing a new perspective to the marketing and accounts process used within the workplace. I was able to implement my previous experience of administration into this role via the use of Excel, Xero and my strong customer service skills. This role helped to develop my communication skills via regular correspondence with other stakeholders – by means of email and/or phone.

The role of Medical Receptionist at The Wellness House entailed a number of tasks – these included, patient correspondence, Medicare billing, working with allied health professionals and general practitioners, accreditation preparation and other day to day administration tasks (i.e. scanning, filing and answering phone calls, to name a few). This role allowed me to develop professionally by providing me with training in the use of platforms such as Medical Director. I was able to bring a positive contribution to the workplace by demonstrating my ability to work at a high pace whilst ensuring my work was impeccable – and further educating staff.

The role that I secured at the Orange Ex-Services Club allowed me to build upon my previous experience in hospitality – completing a number of customer service related tasks that helped to create a thriving, customer orientated environment. This role further allowed me to build upon my customer service skills and engage in effective communication on both a professional and individual level.

The role of Residential Advisor (RA) was a highly rewarding yet challenge role that I had the privilege of obtaining throughout my undergraduate degree. For me, this role provided me with both professional and individual growth – completing training in suicide prevention, first aid, leadership and Mental Health First Aid. The role of RA was comprised of working in a team of 14 students, in conjunction with the executive team at Dunmore Lang College – therefore, I had consistent communication with a number of professionals, to ensure that the duty of care of residents within the community was sustained. I was able to positively contribute to the team by using my effective interpersonal skills to engage other team members and fellow residents in a number of events and tasks, to ensure that the conflict was minimal and addressed appropriately.

Sydney Obsessive Compulsive Anxiety Disorder Practice located in Lindfield, Sydney

The role of administration at Sydney Obsessive Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders Practice allowed me to gain a greater understanding in the field of Psychology – broadening my career prospective for the future. This position was highly rewarding, working for Dr Rocco Crino, Clinical Psychology in conjunction with my undergraduate studies in Psychology allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the study of human behavior, particularly in regards to OCD and anxiety. I was able to bring a warm welcome to the patients attending the practice by using my interpersonal skills to engage in conversation with a range of individuals.

This volunteer role at the Butterfly Foundation, in Sydney gave me a greater insight into Non-Profit organisations and the associated values, goals and motives that are associated with such workplaces. I believe this had a positive effect on my career development.
