The Business Analytics online short course from the University of Cape Town (UCT) enable aspiring and functional analysts, and business decision-makers, to improve their business intelligence capabilities by applying statistical techniques to data sets and extract insights to inform decision-making. Students explore data visualisation and storytelling, learn about SQL, and how to use calculated fields in Tableau. They also use Python to apply statistical techniques (such as factor and cluster analysis, multiple and logistic regression, and classification trees) to different data sets in order to interpret the outcome of real-life business scenarios.

As a self-taught coder and sole founder, my responsibilities were/are:
•	Developing the online learning platforms backend and frontend: Website (and mobile site) and apps using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (React Native and Cordova), and JAVA programming languages 
•	Sourcing the online learning material from lecturers and tutors at MIT, and Khan Academy and signing contracts to cover the 25+ courses currently on offer for 16 000+ students currently registered (Personally, I recorded the well-received Astronomy, Machine Learning and Deep Learning courses)
•	Developing sustainable business models giving IQmates a R20 000 monthly revenue without charging students for the use of the site
•	Signing partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the education and corporate spaces
•	Verifying the collection process and accuracy of internal and external data to identify opportunities for growth, problems and solutions to resolve them
•	Keeping track of daily traffic to the website and analysing trends for new/returning users via tools such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics

With the efforts in my edtech startup to democratise access to quality revision resources and creating a platform for students to revise together, I was awarded the TEDx1830 Fellowship.

The Founder Institute

12-week program, each week teaching different aspects relevant to forming a sustainable tech business.
Activities included:
- Attending weekly meetups with a week's mentors chosen from a range of CEOs and captains of industry
- Submission of weekly assignments to Founder Institute Silicon Valley with the week's topic
- Creating a strong network of stakeholders and influencers who were/are relevant to my start-up
- Presenting and getting feedback from mentors who have successfully run their own tech businesses
- Working in groups with other fellow founders
- Out of 76 applicants, 39 were selected into the program and 12 graduated

Volunteered to tutor Grade 12 Mathematics to underprivileged final year high school students.

•	Currently responsible for building the end-to-end Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence capability in our Private Banking division
•	I wrote algorithms that made use of public external data in combination with internal data to uncover opportunities for frontline bankers, for example uncovering over 250 000 potential clients who meet the required target market for the Specialist/Private Bank
•	Programming languages and tools I use: SQL, Python, R, QlikView, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Alteryx, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 
•	I regularly present the findings to different stakeholders across the board and in different divisions of the bank
•	I run a weekly internal mailer to colleagues and executives from different divisions across the bank, educating them on relevant uses of Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence and keeping them up to date with developments in the field.

Internship

I am a data scientist with 8 years of corporate experience. I had the mandate of rolling out Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence capabilities in Investec South Africa's Private Bank in order to future proof the business and at the same time uncover growth opportunities. Currently my focus is on figuring out data science projects making use of graph networks and generative AI to unlock opportunities and efficiencies for Investec's UK and Europe strategies. 
As someone who also runs a free educational platform with over  20 000 students and a strong believer in positive disruptions of technology, I run educational initiatives within the bank to up-skill colleagues  and executives from various departments to help them understand how to leverage ML/AI in their areas. I am also building an internal Insights Academy that is helping employees from different departments upskill and start analytics projects in their areas.
