You’ve been there.
The prospect said yes to a meeting.
You got excited.
You prepped.
And then ⇢ they canceled.

Worse?
Now they’re ghosting you. 👻

Frustrating? Absolutely.
The end of the world? Not even close.

Let’s break this down.

❌ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞:

They take it personally.
They stew on it.
They label the prospect as “flaky.”
They start second-guessing their pitch.

But here’s the truth ↳
Ghosting usually has more to do with them than with you.

People get busy.
Priorities shift.
Emergencies pop up.
Sometimes, they just weren’t as ready as they thought.

✔️ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝:
Take action—don’t sit in silence.

1️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐮𝐩.
Something short, polite, and respectful of their time.
Example: “Hey [Name], I know things can get hectic. Should we look at a new time next week, or would you like me to circle back later in the quarter?”

2️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰-𝐮𝐩.
By letting them say no without guilt, you often get the truth. And clarity is always better than chasing ghosts.

3️⃣ 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠.
Don’t hinge your quota on someone who isn’t engaging. Stay active. Stay consistent. Stay focused on the prospects who are showing up.

❤️ 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞:
We’ve all ghosted someone, if we’re honest.
Ignored a text.
Dodged an email.
Let something slip because life was happening.

Your prospects are human too.
Treat them that way.

By leading with empathy and persistence, you set yourself apart from the “just checking in” crowd.

⚡ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞:
Instead of thinking:
“They ghosted me—this is a dead lead.”

Think:
“They ghosted me—this is a chance to demonstrate professionalism and patience.”

Because here’s the kicker ↳
Many “ghosts” do come back around.
And when they do, the salesperson who stayed respectful and consistent is the one who wins.
