Seven.One Entertainment Group

In my current role at Seven.One Entertainment Group, I am responsible for development and maintenance of the multi-tenant Video on Demand Streaming Platform, Joyn. I am responsible to successfully deliver applications in multiple channels, including iOS, Android, and Smart TVs. The apps are essential for distributing content for ProSiebenSat.1 brands in the DACH region where Joyn is a platform with millions of monthly active users.

Vice President Engineering

As the Director of Technology and Product, I was responsible for the development and maintenance of FYEO, a podcasting app that focuses on delivering high-quality audio content alongside established podcasting formats. The app had over 1.6 million formats and over 40 million episodes in its database.

In a team of 10 developers, I was responsible for the architecture and operation of the backend systems based on Node.js that power the applications. The platform utilizes an Event Driven Architecture approach based on Google Cloud Platform as a Cloud Computing Solution.

Software Architect & Engineer, FYEO

AXA Deutschland is the German branch of AXA Group, an international insurance company.
At AXA, I worked with a team that is responsible for building online insurance tariff calculators for clients and internal use.
Together with a colleague, I was responsible for the architecture that powers the front-end applications, as well as developing the microservice-based software using Node.js for the backend and React.js for the client-side implementation. The applications run in a custom Cloud environment based on Kubernetes and Docker. Besides building the architecture, our task was to grow the team from four to 14 developers by working in cross-functional teams.

REWE digital

REWE digital is the digital division of REWE Group.
At REWE digital I was working on platform services that help serve the web experience of the main REWE online appearance and online shop. Apart from that I developed internal services that helped engineers with their daily work. I was responsible for building services based on their Microservice architecture using Node.js in the Backend, utilizing Apache Kafka and React.js as a front-end framework.

Croozer is a company that produces and sells bicycle trailers.
I was responsible for setting up the architecture and developing a content heavy e-commerce platform based on a Microservice approach. In a team of five, we developed a solution based on Node.js, Magento and cloud-based services including a headless Content Management System.

Fashionette is an online retailer of luxury goods in Europe and the US. 
At Fashionette I was responsible for setting up a software architecture to replace a monolithic e-commerce platform based on Magento. The goal was to build a future-proof and scalable Microservice oriented architecture using PHP in the backend and cloud-based services where possible.
While I was responsible for leading the relaunch of the e-commerce platform I grew the team to 14 software engineers participating in an agile environment. We developed the base for the company's potential growth within the following years.

“The Vaillant Group is a company that develops products for heating, cooling and hot water” (Wikipedia, Vaillant Group).
As a Front-end architect my role was to work with ten other Front-end developers to build the online presence for Vaillant Group and its subsidiaries. I was part of a group of people that grew from seven to 40 people working in a Scrum environment, split into four teams. The project is considered the kick-off for an agile transformation within Vaillant Group Business Services.
Technically, the focus was on establishing a scalable, reusable front-end environment.
