I served as outside general counsel for business clients that do not have their own legal departments, so I worked closely with our clients' board of directors and management teams.  My primary responsibilities included negotiating and drafting commercial contracts in matters of M&As, asset purchases, employment, non-competes, consultation, distribution, leases and technology licenses. Our clients typically come to us first when there is a legal dispute. If we cannot assist the client in resolving such disputes amicably, we would help manage outside litigation counsel to help clients resolve those disputes.  Given my fluency in Mandarin Chinese, part of my job was to examine U.S. company practices to ensure compliance with Chinese regulations. I also routinely worked with management to develop intellectual property protection strategies, particularly from infringements in China.  Finally, I am experienced in commercial real estate law as I assist clients in the evaluation, purchase, sale, lease, and operation of commercial, residential and agricultural property, as well as wind and mineral interests.

I routinely drafted governance records for corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.  I also worked on estate and tax planning by preparing wills, powers of attorney for health care and for property, revocable trusts, land trust agreements and deeds.

As my former employers, clients, and coworkers continued to reach out for assistance in translation and business plan writing, I formed Efficient Services Inc. and engaged over 20 freelance translators to meet client demand. In addition to providing translation and writing services, I ran the operations of the business by maintaining client relationships, training new translators, updating the Company's social media accounts, and balancing the Company's books. In three years, Efficient Services Inc. translated 15,000+ pages of legal documents for law firms and corporations and provided 100+ hours of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services at trade conferences, depositions, pretrial conferences, settlement negotiations, and witness preparation sessions.

I spent my 1L summer internship assisting in the redrafting of Cook County's tobacco tax ordinance through statutory research and observations of administrative and appellate hearings.

During this undergraduate internship, I worked with the Assistant Public Defender on over 100 child protection cases. My job included evaluating client placements, participating in child services meetings, engaging in IEP meetings, and summarizing therapist and agency reports in preparation for court.

I am an Associate General Counsel at CompTIA. My practice includes drafting and negotiating routine and complex contracts, enforce IP protection strategies, and managing corporate governance for CompTIA's various entities. From 2013 through 2016, I founded and operated Efficient Services Inc., a translation company specializing in Chinese-English legal translation for law firms and international corporations.  I am former President of Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago, an Associate Board member of the Chinese Mutual Aid Association, and a regular volunteer attorney at the Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic.
