Lead the Information Security consulting team, to deliver client facing consulting services including vCISO, Cyber and InfoSec services, as well as pre-sales support. Maintain and manage Conosco internal ISO27001 and ISO9001 certifications. Oversee the Managed Security services and cyber security service offerings. IT and Business risk tracking and management. Provide internal CISO functions to the Group CEO/Board.

Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Represent the Security Division business unit on the Group Leadership team as Head of the Security Division. I manage and lead the Security Division of Conosco Group (reporting directly to the CEO) from its creation through its successful expansion, including staff in the UK and SA offices. I defined service offerings and operating procedures for both the Consulting and Security Operations Centre work streams. I also provided consulting and audit services to clients and internally to the Group (ISO27001:2013, GDPR, Cyber Essentials, general cyber security), in addition to managing and maintaining internal ISO27001:2013 ISMS and supporting ISO9001:2015 QMS as well as GDPR compliance at the Group level.

Head Of Security

I was responsible for defining, managing, and growing the new Security Division of Conosco (reporting directly to the CEO). This included interviewing and hiring staff, investigating and deciding on products and service offerings, and defining department structure and operation. Responsible for providing consulting and audit services to clients and staff (ISO27001:2013, GDPR, Cyber Essentials, general cyber security). Manage and maintain internal ISO27001 ISMS and GDPR compliance.

Information Security Manager

I planned and implemented ISO27001:2013 ISMS for Conosco, and was responsible for general security and compliance work internally and for clients. I assisted with 3rd line Support escalations (specifically network related), supervised all 1st and 2nd line Support Engineer teams, and was responsible for general Support Management functions. Assisted Projects department with new system work for clients.

Senior Cybersecurity & Support Engineer

Responsible for general compliance and security assistance to clients. I provided Security related services to clients and improved Conosco’s internal security policies and procedures. Assisted with 3rd line Support escalations (specifically network related) and general Support Management functions of 1st & 2nd line Support Engineers. I assisted with designing projects for client works. Assisting Projects department with new system work for clients.

Senior Support Engineer & Team Leader

Performing internal Systems functions. Assisting Projects department with project work for clients. Responsible for 3rd line escalations of network related cases. Assisting clients with PCI DSS compliance requirements.

Systems Engineer

Maintenance of the full network and server infrastructure across the 4 branches in KZN and Gauteng. Administering backups (Qnaps), Fortigate firewalls, ADSL and diginet connectivity, wireless coverage, user support.

Network Engineer (Contract)

Monitoring and managing Spiceworks Support System. Planning for future development of hardware and infrastructure. Maintenance and Support of all hardware. Service Provider management (Supplier ordering and Support Calls for Repairs). Day to day monitoring of systems, hardware and network infrastructure (including Enterasys NAC, NMS, wireless network, and VMWare virtual infrastructure). Management of Backups and maintenance of software. Attending to School specific requirements (EduAdmin Software, mailing lists etc).

IT Technical Manager

Network and Systems Administrator. Managing user network logins and access to network resources. E-mail and Internet filtering and restriction (dial-up, leased line, and ADSL). Monitoring and managing server backups. Network usage and stability monitoring and maintenance, cabling and design (including outlying site setup and support). Maintaining depot to HQ connectivity through direct leased line and ADSL (VPN). Hardware and software support and new PC installations (Win 2000/XP, Linux, Office 2000/XP/2003, Syspro, custom applications). Consumables purchasing and usage tracking and stock management. Management of all hardware/software suppliers. Maintaining hardware and software asset register, including license auditing. Support of web-based route and truck planning software, as well as entering rates and information for day-to-day operation. Designed and wrote web-based Help Desk Call Logging system. Responsible for all cell phones throughout the company, including repairs, new contracts and swaps/cancellations. Keeping cell asset database up to date and accurate. Management for PABX access codes, and extension monitoring software. Responsible for PABX and Premi-Cell operation and maintenance. Also daily backup maintenance and execution (server and workstation). Responsible for day-to-day work/management of the Fleet Administrator, and overseeing all Fleet Tracking, new Truck installations and repairs etc.
IT Department 2IC and Leader for Customer Culture Committee (Vice Chair). Member of the Managing Directors Middle Management Committee. After hours On Call 2 weeks a month.

Systems and Communications Administrator

Rolling out new systems and maintaining them, as well as user and programmer liaison for system changes and updates. Minor programming and program maintenance. Administering Terminal Server and Visual Studio Source Safe for development team. Responsible for Coil Coating Line Lab Results Capture programs and operation. Designed and implemented Net-Net Rolling Margin Export Cost Calculation program for Customer Support Team.
