how do i deal with imposter syndrome when building in public?

gronk this week interviewed me and asked me that question

when i was building a newsie on newsletters i had times where i thought 'who am i to share this' but what helped was that i was not coming from an expert

but rather from a educator i guess if that makes sense

i would share what i'm learning

and what helped to push me to continue to build in public was when people would asked me about that and want to know how they can do that as well

something i learned from building a newsie in public

was how much awesome people i would connect to and still do to this day

if you are thinking of building in public

do it

you never know who you will meet or help

how do i come up with content for linkedin every week?

i use ai

but i don't just write into chatgpt 'write me a linkedin post'

i actually have chatgpt interview me

then i just copy and paste my response i wrote down on my social scheduler

when i started building in public...

i would only share my wins 

i quickly learned that sharing my struggles and setbacks was just as important.

 i remember sharing a challenge i was facing, and not only did it get a lot of engagement, but people even offered to hop on calls to share advice.

it's a reminder that being authentic matters too. building in public isn't just about showing wins it's about sharing the real, messy journey.

EVERYTHING I’VE EVER GOT IN LIFE WAS BECAUSE I CLIMBED CRINGE MOUNTAIN. YOU SWEAT, YOU SHAKE, YOU LOOK STUPID. AND THEN ONE DAY, IT BREAKS OPEN.

AND SUDDENLY YOU’RE THE ONLY ONE WITH A VIEW.

i've probably made a couple of mistakes at my last saas job

even if i can't recall a specific one.

but what i do know is that every single one of those setbacks has made me better.

setbacks or mistakes are great learning lessons

i didn't expect this from building in public

is just how open and willing people are to help you when you get stuck. 

it's probably one of the best reasons to share what your working on because you never know who might be willing to help you

i've built lots of automations in my 9-5, i was definitely not an expert. 

i got stuck a lot. 

but instead of giving up, i learned to leaned on Youtube 

it’s a reminder that you don't have to have all the answers. sometimes the best skill is knowing where to look for help.
