#personalbranding isn't a quick fix, it's a process

It's a path on how you build your presence, online and offline.

How you accumulate your reputation throughout your professional experiences and your journey of building relationships.

Here on LinkedIn, your #personalbrand is like a conversation with your community. 

It's not only how others perceive you.

It's also how you feel about yourself - the purpose you have and the value you bring to others.

One thing I've learned along my journey is that you have to be committed, to continuously learning yourself, and persevere in providing your outbound presence - especially at times when you might feel you aren't receiving any inbound in return.

It's about the decision.
Of continuous time investment and setting the habit of building your leadership.

By lifting your community, not exposing yourself.

The part will say it's not profitable. It's not measurable.
The part will persevere and continue.

P.S. It's a mushroom season here in Latvia and absolutely ordinary situation for Latvians - we love to collect mushrooms. And I could say we are born with this skill (I guess we receive it with breast milk:))) to know which mushrooms are eatable and which are not.

Posting on LinkedIn hasn't always been easy

P.s. You know, I have crush on running /walking in mornings



It's been 6 years now on #LinkedIn. 

Fear of:
making myself look stupid, 
not to harm Employer reputation, 
not appropriate, 
not relevant, 
too personal, 
too experimental, 
not fluent in English
etc

All kinds of self-destructive thoughts have crossed my mind and many times during my time on LinkedIn 




The first two years I didn't post much, I guess I was commited Employee, in two companies in a row, and both didn't see much value in LinkedIn back then, not to speak of Employee Advocacy and power of personal brand.

I guess my break-through happened when I lost my job in early 2020, just with pandemics, and realized the Community I've become part of is whom I can serve and empower. This pushed me to start writing more often since.

Oh yes, I failed many times.
I've deleted many posts.
I've rewritten some.

But, with a life happening, time passing, community cheering, it's becoming easier.

You feel needed
You feel relevant
You know you can help
You know you can empower
You know you can inspire


You know you should express yourself as you are

Be you

I hear my community saying:

I've been away from LinkedIn
Don't know how to re-start
Big names, tips&triks confuse me
What should I write about

And so on..


There have been times I've been away from LinkedIn too, it actually happens still

Then, my purpose and passion empowering partners and teams to overcome challenges bring me back on track real quick. 

A few things I suggest for a re-start:

1. Think of what do you love to do and you get paid for, what your customer really needs. Your customer's still need your help, advice, dont let your absence  postpone your support. 

2. Appreciate your amazing community, friends and inspiring personalities on this platform, get to see their posts, engage in comments, get the vibe back

3. Read your feed, see reactions, make new connections to reactivate your networking habit

4. Comment on clients, partners posts, get back on supporting, giving, adding value mindset

5. Come up with a personal post, be open to share that it's been a time, but you are back - encourage others, but mostly encourage yourself. 


You can't lose on LinkedIn. 

Its a win win for you to be present.

Backstory short:

This morning. 
I am on my walk, and just ahead of me I see a person with dog, whom I've noticed in my walk, run, daily routes quite often. I recognised as its foreigner and quite often walks two cute little dogs.

This morning I decided to approach and say hi while I am passing by. 

Funny for me, the person gave me honest feedback: 

that he hasn't noticed me because the focus is only on dog people when on street / park. 
 
We exchanged some more sentences and I continued my brisk walk.

What made me thinking.. 

Do we really focus only on dog people, runner people, walking people, coffee people, industry people, etc in our daily path. 

#LinkedIn [so does real life] gives us a chance to get to know so many different people, even before we even recognise who is a dog / or cat / or coffee person.

- 23 gados mans pirmais bizness, boards(.)lv, kur neviens nebijām ar finansēm uz tu, ziemā iztirgojām kedas, vasarā sniegadēļus, un ienākumus nebija laika tērēt jo daudz strādājām, apēdām restorānos un ceļojām pa Eiropu
- 27 gados uzsāku savu otru biznesu, joprojām tērēju, nedomājot par rītdienu
- 32 gados pieteicās pirmā meitiņa, 34 gados otrā meita, sešus gadus biju ģimenes modelī - sieviete mājsaimniece, otra puse pelnītājs
- 36 gados startēju radošu e-komercijas projektu, ko 3-5 gadus aktivi realizēju, noslēguma posmā ienākumi jau palīdzēja pabarot ģimeni
- 37 gados pārtraucot attiecības, sāku darbu uz pusslodzi kā pārdevēja - draudzene pabrīdināja ka ex-girlfriend tiešām ir ex ar visām sekām. Pirmo reizi apzinājos, ka esmu savas ģimenes galva, ienākumu radītāja.
- 42 gados beidzu algota darba posmu - iepazinu, ko nozīmē izdzīvot no algas līdz algai kā solo-mammai, jo vienmēr par īsu ar attiecīgo jomu algām, un iepazinu kā tas ir, kad nav izaugsmes iespējas arī ienākumā, un kā ir kad paliec bez darba
- jau 4 gadus esmu neatkarīga konsultante, lektore, partnere biznesam un profesionāļiem. Šis dzīvesveids nāk kopā ar neregulāru un neprognozējamu ienākumu. Šī ir jauna pieredze - vērtīga skola izaugsmei finanšu pratības jomā. 

Skaidrs ir viens, ir jāmācās un jāaug katru dienu.

Sievietes, mēs varam daudz, jā. 
Taču mēs varam iemācīties dzīvot gudrāk, apzinātāk.

Manās sajūtās vērtīgi ir tas, ka šī laika paaudzes sarunājas par naudu. Ar draugiem, ģimenē, ar otrām pusēm, un ar bērniem. Uzlabojot savus ieradumus, savu finanšu veselību, mēs varam veicināt izpratni, iedot impulsu arī saviem bērniem.
