HARKALIVE is an online platform for dance & movement classes.
* I lost my work due to the pandemic, so I built a startup and bootstrapped it from 0 to $100k in ARR.

* Built two products: 
1. harkalive.com -> a DTC subscription platform to join online live classes and on-demand content. I grew it organically to 200+ customers from 20 countries.
2. https://harka.live -> a two-sided marketplace connecting independent instructors with an international audience. I designed the platform based on my own experience and customer feedback.

* Owned the vision and roadmap working with a team of co-founders and an external team of engineers and designers.

This was my first experience building digital products. I learned most skills during the job, and immersed myself in the tech industry becoming obsessed with customer feedback and growth opportunities.

* Managed the entire operations of the company from client meetings to event delivery.

* Produced 300+  events in UK and Europe and 10 theatre productions working in venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, V&A Museum, and more. 

* Assembled and led cross-functional teams of specialized professionals toward a shared vision and product.

- Some of my daily activities included: event management, stakeholder liaison, B2B & B2C sales, content marketing, budget management and experience design, customer relationship management, budget and quote preparations and stage design.

I believe the role of a Producer in events, is the equivalent to the role of a Product Manager in tech. Producers are the glue between all other teams internally, and externally with customers and suppliers. Each one of these stakeholders speaks a different "language" and has a different interest. 
It is key for producers, as PMs, to empower the team to achieve a successful outcome by creating the event experience - the "product" - customers want, and love.

* Developed and managed 8 educational programs (in-person & online).

* Organised 12 international seminars creating an immersive experience for leading dance creators and their audiences.

* Produced and curated all content for the organization's projects. 

* Put together a team to build an online product combining dance, culture and education as a "digital tour" in response to the pandemic.

- Managed all productions and built the strategy across Creative Production, Marketing and Product. I had full ownership of the budget including pre-during-post projects.

- 2018-2019: produced two live shows achieving over 95% capacity, financial and critical success with a focus on ROI. (Based on the industry average, only 1 in 10 productions generate a return. Our products received awards as well as a return on investment.)

Building Pretty Prompt | Ex. Event Producer |🎗️

Forget Stanford. Forget AI. Forget strategy.
Forget everything you’ve heard before about startups.
It all comes down to one small thing:

👉 Making something people want.
It’s a bit cringe 😅 but it’s true.

And the best founders get this. Most investors dismiss it 🙃.

For sure luck is a big part of it. But we can help make luck happen.

So instead of chasing millions, chase the first 10 users.
And obsess over their experience.

First 10. Then the next 10. Then 100.
It’s way harder (and way more impactful) to make 100 people love you,
than 1,000,000 people kind of like you.

👉 Remember: chasing novelty is not the same as being noble.

And though this sounds very easy… it’s so, so hard.
Yet also so, so simple.

I’m a big fan of Airbnb and Brian Chesky (he just posted an IG story on this).
It is how they built a $75+ billion company.

I also love how Nathan Barry says it: “Do things that don’t scale, because that enables the channels that do scale.”

Charlie and I are obsessed with every single person using Pretty Prompt. Every single prompt, every single experience.

It’s not 1 million users.
It’s 1 × 1,000,000.
That mindset shift makes all the difference in what you build and why.

Last Thursday, I left Ignite London at 6:20pm. I was starving. Didn’t manage to have lunch after a full day with Charlie on Pretty Prompt.

Lucky me, there’s a GAIL's right in the corner. (I think Gail’s the best bakery chain in London.)

I grabbed a cookie 🍪 and, out of curiosity, asked the cashier what they do with all the leftovers… 😅

She said, “We throw them away. Do you want a box on the house?”
I smiled, and OMG, it was a feast.

Moral of the story: Most people never ask. So they never get.

If you don’t ask, you won’t know why someone paid for your product.
Or why they churned. Or what made them sign up in the first place.

Or what would make their whole company use it.
Or… You’d miss a full box of free pastries 🥐.

Be cheeky. And prompt your way there.

Missionaries. Not mercenaries.
That’s what Brian looked for at Airbnb.
Sometimes you meet people that change how you think.

They get the best out of you. They become more than friends.

I’ve met two people like this in my life: Luis Baldassarre (my former ballet teacher), and Noam Segal, the best research and insights leader in tech.

Kind. Thoughtful. Experienced. Creative. Fun. Wise.

He knows how to hold you to your standards, while pushing you even further. Providing praise when you deserve it.

For us at Pretty Prompt, we’ve done a great job at making the UX super smooth:
- Zero to value in 20-30 seconds. (I’ve timed it 😅).
- Growing to over 10,000 users in just 3 months.
- Building a product we wished it existed.

However, we need to do a better job at:
- Our Product Messaging.
- In-app feedback loops.
- Making it available for vibe coding, image and video prompts.

Yes. We’re bringing all those use cases into Pretty Prompt 💪.

AI Insights, UX Research, Product, and Psychology are deeply integrated.
And Noam is a master at this. 

(Go check out one his research on “How tech workers really feel about work right now”, incredible project.)

We’re a small team. Ship daily, test, and only keep what works, dropping out everything else with no regrets.

This comes from a framework Noam taught us and became a powerful process to iterate quickly: Start - Stop - Continue.

- What should we start doing?
- What should we stop doing?
- What should we continue doing?

It’s simple. It works. Just like Pretty Prompt. (You can try it yourself 😇).

So we continue building with 'Delight as the north star'. Once you build customer love, the rest falls into place. (Another thing I learnt from Noam).

Surround yourself with the right people. Your chances of succeeding are way higher. Missionaries. Not mercenaries. ☑️

Before the pandemic, I planned events.
Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, Conferences, Theatre shows, Circus. It was amazing.
I even won awards for it. 😇

Here’s the thing: tech and events are very similar.
I got the most pleasure standing at the back of the theatre, looking at a full house of people clapping for that show I just produced. 

A full house of people I didn’t know.

They didn’t know me either. 
But we were both there for the same thing: That Show.

Just like in tech, you’re there for that product. 
That experience. That problem. You become obsessed with it.

I used to spend days looking at ticket sales going up and down.
Now I spend my days looking at PostHog analytics. Obsessing about it.

Today, our show is Pretty Prompt. Though not really a “show”, it is about creating that same feeling.

That feeling of excitement you get after watching a Broadway show.

The medium might be different, the product might be different. 
The feeling is the same.

A play, a musical, a tool, an extension…
It’s about making the experience for every user, as thrilling as that theatre show.

Today's use case for Pretty Prompt → using it to grow Pretty Prompt.

So today I'm creating a poem to celebrate 10k users in 3 months 🎉.

I didn’t overthink the prompt.
I just typed what came to mind.

Pretty Prompt turned it into a great prompt that was powerful, thoughtful, and to the point.

I wanted to tighten it up even more, so I just edited the prompt inline. ✅
No retyping, no friction.
I focused on the story I wanted to share, not how to phrase it.

The result? A great post in just one try.
