A little about me: ENFJ I want to do work that is meaningful and pays well, and I refuse to accept that the two are mutually exclusive. Above all else, representation matters. Working Mother magazine named me one of the top working mom bloggers in America. I believe words are better tools than weapons. When I was in my first executive level job, I had a bumper sticker from Ben & Jerry's on my office door. It said, "If it's not fun, why do it?" My boss ripped it off and told me that sentiment was "off brand." Clearly that wasn't a good fit for me. I have been called many things. I am a writer, marketing and branding strategist, communicator, advocate, and an ally for equity and representation. I focus on taking a consumer approach to communications and marketing. In my consulting work, I specialized in translating consumer insights into profitable ideas. Experience and wisdom do come with age. I have over 25 years of marketing and communications experience and earned an MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a BA in History from the University of Virginia. (WAHOOWA!) As an "accidental activist," I dedicate my time and talent to advocate for myriad issues and use my voice as a champion for children. Specifically, I work to eliminate child abuse, support public education, reduce childhood hunger, advocate for global vaccines, champion access to affordable healthcare, and rally for paid leave and childcare. I use my voice literally and figuratively as a public speaker and writer.
