Why I steer clear from mainstream copywriting advice: A popular adage says to treat your "About" section like a landing page. Great advice. Bet it works for many people. Not my cup of joe, though. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm above promoting myself. And I don't think selling is "sleazy" or anything. It's just that … I respect you enough to not throw a pitch at our first serious point of contact. That may be the endgame, but not the starting point for sure. If you don't mind – I'll do what few other people do, and suggest you first: 1) Read my stuff here. 2) Check my client work and archived daily emails on my website. 3) Only then make a conscious and deliberate decision whether to approach me or not. I believe that's the most honest way for both you and me. You see what I'm made of and whether I'm worthy of your investment, and I filter out all those who find my antics too kooky. Of course, maybe it'd seem more persuasive to unsheath my copywriting sabre and slash through your problems and desires in these ~500 words Linkedin graciously allotted me. It does seem like a glorious opportunity, doesn’t it? To demonstrate my expertise in front of thousands of potential prospects … ... wow my target audience with the best copywriting techniques in my arsenal ... ... get those juicy "Loved your profile copy! How much do you charge?" DMs ... … damn. Talk about an offer a copywriter can’t refuse. But still. You do your own unswayed analysis and you make your own unswayed decisions. I don’t wanna be partial to those. You can stop reading right now, for all I care. Not like I’ll ever know. The choices are all yours. Welp. By now you definitely noticed this ain't a landing page. But you probably didn’t notice that I wrote this in the form of an email. All with the first line as the subject one. You may be surprised, but why? I specialize in writing emails. Only makes sense to demonstrate it whenever I can. And well, every good email should end with an offer. As I said, the choice is yours. But if you want to learn more about me, I recommend my website as the way to go. I'll even give you access to my exclusive Hidden Email Archive – 60+ pages of marketing insights, practical copywriting advice, personal stories ... and a whole lot of other stuff. The link’s in the bio. Cheers.
