You have a vision. You want your work to have a positive impact on people’s lives. You want to educate, entertain, or inspire. That’s the same thing I want for my business. This is why, when I sit down to work, I have two things in mind: • your vision and • your audience. 🟣 Your vision – EDUCATION Did you know that a toddler may need to try a new food more than 10 times before they decide they like it? This is just one of the many facts I’ve learned while translating. Truth is, when the purpose of your content is to educate, I not only understand your audience, I AM your audience. I’ve translated educational resources developed by charities, internal training courses that teach employees about their company’s policies, leaflets informing patients or the general population about services they can access. What am I going to translate for you? 🟣 Your vision – ENTERTAINMENT Do you remember lying in your bed sleepy-eyed but asking your parents to read you one more story before they go? I certainly do. Those moments are what comes to mind when I translate children’s books. Am I going to be translating yours? As a huge trivia buff and collector of fun facts, translating content that is compulsively-readable is my jam.
