Success comes from hard work and learning to ask the right questions. There are a few things people should know about me: 1) I have worked in the capital markets for almost 50 years. I have been privileged to work with and learn from some of the best of the best. At every step of the way I watched new technology deployed that has made the markets more efficient and global. 2) I have helped more than 200 companies raise over $1 billion from public investors. I pride myself on helping companies structure offerings that are attractive to investors and still represent the lowest cost of capital to the company being funded. I still work with Wall Street underwriters but I am counseling companies to do more equity crowdfunding because it is faster and less expensive. 3) I have worked as a litigator and litigation consultant in close to 2000 disputes involving failed investments and investment strategies. My testimony as an “expert” has been accepted by more than 100 Judges and arbitrators around the country. 4) I taught Finance and Economics at a well reputed University for close to a decade. I found that spending an afternoon with a room full of college students was preferable to spending the same amount of time in a room full of lawyers. The students rewarded me by teaching me more than I taught them. 5) The University also helped me build an international consulting and advisory practice. My clients included large investment and commercial banks, multi-national corporations and investors and one foreign government. 6) Finally, if we ever speak on the phone, I will probably try to make you laugh. The President of one of those international banks told me that every executive needs at least one good laugh every day. Probably the best advice I ever got.
