"more" meant having enough food on the table. "More" meant maybe seeing the world beyond my small corner of Nigeria someday.

Honestly, "more" meant NOT letting my kids.
The ones I don't even have yet struggle like I did.

I was not born with a silver spoon.
I grew up with "not enough":

• Not enough food.
• Not enough stability.
• Not enough….hope, sometimes. 

We weren't just poor…. we were worried:

• Worried about the next meal.
• Worried about the next crisis.
• Worried about the next rent payment.

I have always been a big fan of adventure.
I want to travel around the world and enjoy nature
You can call me “the adventurous nature boy”.
Yet, I'd never even been on an airplane.

It may sound crazy.
But I would be very emotional on my first plane trip.
God knows how bad I want to leave Nigeria.

The myth I want to talk about today is this.
"Every piece of content you create has to be perfectly polished"

That's the biggest lie I have ever heard.
As a matter of fact, my first ever content wasn't that sweet.
You don't need a perfect content before posting on LinkedIn 

I know you've got questions that needs answer 
But won't people judge my typos? 
What if it doesn't sound smart enough?

Well, your excuses might win an Oscar
But here is what I have to tell you.
Perfectionism is your enemy.

Why you have to stop been a perfectionist:

• You would lose out on connections:

Every minute you obsess over a single word 
is a minute you're NOT getting your ideas out there. 
You would miss out on attracting your ideal clients.

• 'Rough and Ready' builds trust: 

People relate to someone who's REAL.
Not a polished robot. 
A few (harmless!) typos show you're a human behind the brand.

• Done is WAY better than perfect: 

80% done and PUBLISHED is a thousand times
More impactful than the masterpiece 
sitting in your drafts folder.

• Progress over polish, every time: 

The more you post.
The better you'll get. 
It's a muscle, and it needs to be exercised.

So, what SHOULD I focus on?

That's a beautiful question my friend.
Instead of seeking perfection when creating content.

Follow this powerful steps instead:

Don't try to mimic some corporate jargon-fest. 
How do you talk to your friends?

Here's the thing:

It's Friday baby.... And you know what that means.
It's time to party hard with a plate of turkey.

Client expectations can be really funny at times.

I'm part writer, part therapist, and part mind reader. 

A client one time told me something hilarious on the call:
Since I'm paying you, can you also design my website.
file my taxes, and give my cat a pep talk?

As if that's not enough.
I got one hilarious request from a client
"Can you write my whole book in 2 days? I have a vision"
I wouldn't do that... I am not a sorcerer 

The things clients expect...
let's just say it keeps my coffee mug full 
and my laughter muscles strong. 

Here's a peek behind the curtain:

1. "I need you to become me. Like, yesterday.":

Sure, I can channel your brand voice.
but a week-long crash course on your entire life history isn't part of the job description.

2. "Can you make this sound like Elon Musk?:

Imitation is flattery, but let's be real.
Everyone wants to sound like themselves, only better.
Why does everyone want to use Elon musk brand voice?

3. This 1,000-word blog post needs to be done in an hour:

Even the most seasoned writers aren't miracle workers. Quality work takes thought and time 
and probably more turkey than I should admit.

4. I'm not really sure what I want, but I'll know it when I see it:

I really do love a good mystery.
But a little direction goes a long way to help.
We writers aren't actually psychic.

5. It should be easy, you're the writer:

Ah, the old 'it looks easy, so it must be' trap.

Don't try to sell all the time:

Stop selling at every opportunity you get.
Nobody likes to be constantly pitched to.
