I just watched a sales team spend a week building a workflow that got them zero leads Here's what they should've done instead. Stop overengineering your sales process! I keep seeing sales leaders getting FOMO from some insane 47-step workflow. Automations are extremely powerful with today's tooling when you have momentum and direction. We've spent every day for the last 4 years building this. But if you're building crazy workflows before you understand your customers, you're engineering yourself into failure. Quick checklist. If you: 1️⃣ can’t identify in one sentence, what your prospect’s biggest problem is 2️⃣ haven’t nailed down the right audience yet 3️⃣ don’t have a great offer yet You need to pick up the phone, get in touch with your most loyal customers, and interview them. This should be happening every quarter, not just when a new sales leader is hired. This is the quickest way to learn what pain points hurt the most, and what is actually landing with your audience. o3 is the turning point for GTM teams. I'm giving away our prompt guide. This is what has changed: 1. o3 can outperform you now 2. Most GTM / AI tooling use older models 3. Most sales leaders haven't implemented agentic workflows yet CEOs of Shopify, Fiverr, Box, and others have reached the same conclusion in the last two months - the models are smart enough now that they HAVE to go AI-first. Here are 4 ways that you (founder, growth hire, sales leader) can take advantage of o3 today. 1) Campaign Ideas Give it the right inputs and it'll generate campaign ideas that are better than yours. We've been doing this since GPT-4 but it's so much better now. 2) Operator on ChatGPT In this example, I use ChatGPT's agent (now on o3) to scrape job postings that are relevant to Zevenue (SDR positions), identify what sales channels the reps will be expected to use, and generate ideas on how Zevenue can help each of the hiring companies. This is important because o3 is not in Clay yet. 3) Sales / Demo Call Prep Upload your discovery call transcript and get customized demo prep that catches connections you missed. 4) Reporting I focus on email reporting here through Instantly.ai. I remember discussing a version of this with Lukas Kemkes a few years ago. I don't think this has been fully solved yet, but better APIs like Instantly v2 will make this possible.
