This is the best business podcast I've ever listened to.

I've listened to loads of business podcasts, hoping to find that perfect blend of insight and inspiration.

The best one is an episode of The Diary Of A CEO featuring Steven Bartlett and George Heaton from Represent.

Here are my 9 key takeaways from it:

#1: Begin with what you have and don't be afraid to start small. You can always scale up as you grow.

#2: It's not about motivation; we often lack motivation, but it's more about DISCIPLINE.

#3: Stay committed to your vision and goals, even when faced with setbacks or obstacles. Persistence is crucial in the entrepreneurial journey.

#4: Hiring the right people isn't just about skill sets; it's about finding those who share your vision and culture.

#5: Putting customers first: George's focus on listening to customers and being part of the community is game-changing.

#6: Learning from experienced individuals outside your circle can provide valuable insights and open up new possibilities for growth and success, especially when facing challenges or seeking to expand your business.

Why I'm Starting To Write Online Again

A few years ago, I adopted the healthy habit of writing online every day, but then I stopped to focus on the growth of my first business.

I thought I didn't have enough time to write, although it had brought me much satisfaction in the past. I thought I didn't have sufficient time. The truth is, I was mistaken; it was simply a matter of discipline and imposter syndrome.

I've decided to rekindle this healthy habit for several reasons:

- Writing has allowed me to connect with people who significantly impacted my life.
- Writing helps me gain clarity about my life and my next steps.
- Writing every day will help me be more consistent and disciplined, the same discipline that has helped me change my life.

Over the next 365 days, I plan to write about:

- Business: what I've built so far and what I'll build in the coming years.
- Productivity: how I execute all the necessary actions to bring my ideas to life.
- Discipline: why I believe that small actions repeated daily are the engine of the life we dream of.

Once again, I'm excited to start this journey.

The best piece of advice I was given about building my first business.

Few years ago, Tim Kilroy, one of my mentors, gave me unforgettable advice.

I had just started my first agency and dreamed of seeing it grow. But, like most beginners, I made many mistakes, such as trying to do everything myself or thinking I was better than others at any task. Consequently, I did not have enough time to manage all my clients effectively.

Until Tim told me:

"Your role as an entrepreneur isn't to make clients happy, but to build a team and systems that make clients happy."

That day, my entire perspective on business changed.

If I wanted to see my agency grow, I had to focus on building a team rather than trying to do everything alone. My mission was no longer to deliver results to clients personally but to ensure someone else could do it for me—and they would do it much better than me.

What happened next was a natural consequence.

I spent the following year working according to Tim's advice. My focus was on hiring the best talents and helping them grow. Additionally, I built systems to support them in performing at their best.

Today, my company has more than 15 employees, and I will never stop thanking Tim for the advice that changed my life.

How celebrating every win kept me going through tough times.

The past year has been as complex as it has been stimulating, and I've had to work on both the professional and mental aspects.

I've learned to celebrate two things:

1. Small victories and milestones.
2. Lessons learned.

It's easy to get lost in the daily frustration of tasks, responsibilities, mistakes, and sometimes failures.

It took me a long time to learn to let go of a bad day or something negative that can ruin a day.

Mistakes or any negative events are nothing but an extra lesson, an advantage at your disposal because you will have learned something that will prevent a future mistake.

If we strive to find something good in what we do daily, a negative thought will be just an event like any other, carrying the same weight.

Building something from scratch when there is no paved road is scary, but learning to celebrate small victories and milestones can make the journey less burdensome.

In the photo, one of my small victories this year was walking on the beach in Portugal at 7 a.m. before starting a workday.

Have you ever turned a failure into a growth opportunity?

Two years ago, I resigned from my job and started my agency, which now employs 15 collaborators.

I had only imagined it for 7 years, never feeling quite up to having my own business until one day, the pain of not pursuing my dream outweighed staying within my comfort zone.

Similarly, I dreamt of working and being able to travel, and for that reason, all our collaborators work remotely worldwide.

The results after a year and a half exceeded my expectations, which is why I decided to share 7 important lessons I learned during this short journey and will always carry with me:

1. Overdeliver.

Exceeding customer expectations and being ready to do more is crucial to keeping customers happy and nurturing long-term relationships.

2. Ask your customers if they are satisfied often.

Set up weekly calls, send surveys, talk to your customers as often as possible, ask for feedback on your service, and try to understand how you can improve in meeting their needs.

3. Turn criticism into constructive feedback.

Criticism is part of the game and will often come, but we must learn to welcome it because it is the only way we grow.

4. You need to make mistakes to understand what to improve.

Making mistakes is okay. Allow yourself to make mistakes. The best way to understand what needs to be corrected. You'll never understand what's wrong if you don't make mistakes 

5-Build, optimize processes, and delegate.

Building and optimizing processes is a daily job that will never end. Processes will help you delegate tasks to your team, ensuring the same quality for your customers even as you scale the business.

6. Give your collaborators the pay they ask for and the freedom to act.

The key to your success lies in the team you work with. Remember to give them satisfactory compensation and enough freedom to work independently. 

7. Enjoy the ride.

There will be days when you'll think it's not worth it and others when you'll see all your efforts rewarded. The essence of this journey is learning to appreciate even the down moments, recognizing them as an integral part of business and personal growth.

About 8 months ago, I heard these words from Alex Hormozi in a podcast with Chris Williamson, Modern Wisdom.

I was depressed. I was dissatisfied with my work life and the relationships I was building or had built and was continuing to maintain. It was perhaps one of the most difficult moments because I knew things hadn't been going in the right direction for too long.

Then, with a click, something shifted.

The words spoken by Alex in that podcast resonated powerfully within me. I understood that I was aware of everything that was causing me suffering. But I didn't dare to confront it for fear of suffering.

It took me several weeks to gather strength, but I found it.

I started having those difficult conversations one by one. Dealing with the consequences was tough, and the suffering was intense. Sometimes, I wondered if it was the right thing to do. 

However, shortly after, I realized it was the best thing I could have done, and I stopped looking back.

From this challenging period, I learned two things:
1. Don't let your fear dictate the direction of your life.
2. Live aligned with your true desires.

The life you want is on the other side of a few hard conversations, embrace those and take control of it.
