Ivana, you are not talented in Math. You’ll be better off in languages. In elementary school, I always practiced math problems with my father. He is gifted in both math and physics. I’ve never felt gifted in math, maybe because I had to study hard. Although, honestly, I loved solving math problems. At that time, my dad set high standards for me about math logic that I didn’t meet, so he guided me to learn languages to make up for my lack of talent in math. Believe it or not, I ended up in finance. Many years after my formal education, I attended a workshop where I met a lady who was a spiritual coach and soul reader. She told me, “You are a natural mathematician. Choose a job with numbers, and you will be successful.” Although I am more of a “realistic” person who believes in facts more than in soul reading, I had to admit she was right. By nature, I lean towards numbers and always choose jobs involving numbers. I love numbers because numbers never lie. They also provide a sound context for creating a business story. During my professional career, I developed an ability to tackle and present complex finance and business topics with transferable skills, including budgeting, reporting, analyzing, researching, problem-solving, and organizing. Along with that, I’m highly skilled in: 🔹corporate reporting, 🔹investment analysis, 🔹business performance analysis and 🔹evaluation of business processes. My flexibility, good judgment, and ability to create trust-based relationships helped me to execute the duties and responsibilities of my last corporate role as personal advisor to the CEO of one of the largest Croatian companies. In my free time, I follow topics about career development and like to learn about passive investing. I also have a passion for teaching, and whenever I have the chance, I give lectures on finance for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
