Jack Clegg Founder & CEO of Platter Born and raised in Lancashire, I developed a deep connection to the food industry from an early age, fuelling my passion for innovation and problem-solving. As a seasoned professional with extensive knowledge of the UK food sector, I’ve spent years working in both purchasing and sales, collaborating with wholesalers and producers of all sizes. This experience gave me a unique insight into the inefficiencies plaguing the industry, sparking my drive to create smarter, more sustainable solutions. During the pandemic in 2020, I founded Eager to Cheese Ltd, a Hackney-based cheesemonger that championed British artisan producers while reducing food miles—an initiative I remain incredibly proud of. In 2022, I launched Platter, a tech-driven solution to streamline the wholesale food industry. Bootstrapping our MVP and assembling a passionate team, we secured our first funding in late 2023, allowing us to onboard customers and refine our product to deliver real value. Platter is now poised to reshape the industry by saving businesses time, reducing costs, and eliminating food waste. I’m also a certified Level 2 Mental Health First Aid responder, a role that has enhanced my approach to leadership. I strongly believe that prioritising mental well-being fosters a more productive and engaged workforce. As we continue to scale Platter, I am excited to connect with forward-thinking businesses and partners who share our mission of driving innovation and sustainability in the wholesale food sector.
