My girlfriend broke up with me last night

This is what it taught me about B2B sales:

1️⃣ The more clients you have, the less it hurts when one leaves

2️⃣ The better you treat a client, the more likely they are to check on your competitors

3️⃣ Always have warm leads in the pipeline. You might need to recover quick

4️⃣ Lead generation should be always ON. Don't get too comfortable

5️⃣ Always use NDA's - if you know what i mean

6️⃣ If they follow too many companies on LinkedIn - 🚩 

7️⃣ When they leave, stay strong and improve your service. They'll back in 6 months begging you to take them back

She might've left, but my clients don't. 

Maybe I should stick to business.

I’ve had 22 business meetings since moving to Cyprus at the start of September

This is what I've learned:

I hate reading books and buying "business" courses. Theoretical learning never worked for me.

I found face-to-face meetings to be super effective.

1. B2C businesses is like a pretty girl at the party. 
Everyone wants them.
B2B's chase B2C's. 
Big B2C's set the rules.

2. The simpler you can explain what you do, the faster you can sell it.

"We provide crypto/fiat exchange services for businesses and payment providers"

3. You're a small fish in a big ocean. Stop worrying about doing everything 100% perfect.
Lawyers don't hate me pls.

3.a. That means don't obsess over every contract line and regulation out there. Get the clients first.

4. Business becomes oversaturated when everyone understands how it works.

5. Oversaturated business doesn't mean it's impossible to succeed. You just have to be better than everyone else.

6. The bar for being better than everyone else is much lower than you think.
Most people are super incompetent.

7. Most corporations don't have as much talent as you think. You can outcompete any big corp with talent, effort and speed.

8. Speed.

9.  Become the "guy" for a specific niche. 
Rico on the picture in the "Cyprus guy" for example. Majority of residency setup business in Cyprus goes to Rico because of it.

10. There's no "sales" in B2B. It either makes sense or not. You won't persuade corps into buying something that doesn't make mathematical sense.

Why banks, and Cypriot banks in particular, don’t want you to use crypto?

Crypto = more perceived AML risk.

As a financial institution , if you let customers use crypto, your internal AML risk profile rises, and for banks that’s the single biggest blocker.

Cyprus has already been considered higher-risk by other EU banks. 

-> A Cypriot commercial bank doesn’t want scrutiny from the central bank
-> The central bank doesn’t want scrutiny from European authorities
-> European regulators don’t want another high-risk member state widely handling crypto

That cascade makes banks in higher-risk jurisdictions extremely cautious. They’d rather say “no” than invite attention.

By contrast, in low-AML-risk countries (large regulated markets such as the US, UK and some EU members) banks are more open to working with crypto firms. 

LOTS of Cyprus-based companies still use crypto. This is how.

Practical setup that works in the market:
- Split functions legally. Create a separate legal entity that handles all crypto activity.
- Locate that entity in crypto-friendly jurisdictions. Use jurisdictions with clear crypto regs and better banking options.
- Bank the crypto entity with crypto-friendly institutions (EMIs or banks). Keep a dedicated crypto account and use it only for crypto flows.
- Invoice and settle between entities. The non-crypto (e.g., Cyprus) entity invoices or receives fiat from the crypto-entity. This operational separation reduces direct AML exposure on the main balance sheet.
- Diversify banking relationships. Don’t put all flows through one bank or one jurisdiction.
