What we want from ‘AI SDR’ isn’t magic, it’s a way to skip the unsexy basics we've never properly done: ICP, messaging, and motion.

For a decade, we've dumped the hardest, most strategic chore in sales [figuring out who to sell to and what to say] onto undertrained, entry-level BDRs. When that predictable mess didn’t turn into pipeline, we blamed “lazy BDRs,” cranked up activity metrics, and kept grinding through people instead of fixing the system.​

Now we want an AI agent to magically “figure out” our ICP, messaging, and motion for us. But AI SDR tools only amplify what already exists: clear targeting, sharp positioning, and proven copy. Without that, all we get is automated slop at scale.​

“Figuring it out” is not a task to outsource to a bot or an entry-level role; it is the sacred work. It belongs to founders, revenue leaders, and marketers willing to do the unsexy, iterative grind of talking to customers, refining the ICP, and testing messaging until it’s repeatable. 

Once that exists, AI is a force multiplier. Until then, it’s an expensive way to avoid doing your job.

Most people just don’t know how to read them.

For years I’ve been practicing a very specific kind of public service: showing up warm, staying curious, and leaving people a little more seen than when they arrived. I’ve joked that I’m basically a Trebuchet of Friendliness—loading up care and launching it into whatever room, thread, or stage I’m lucky enough to be in.

THAT part hasn’t changed.

- if i don't do it now i'll forget to do it
- but if i do it now i'll miss out on the conversation

Solution
- take screenshot of zoom meeting using zight
- ask perplexity comet assistant to turn photo of participants into list of names
- ask it to put that list in a new google sheet
- ask it to find linkedin urls and put them in column b
- download .csv
- upload to dripify campain sequence

♥ Are you more people-oriented (relationships, team building) or task-oriented (systems, processes)?

♦ Is your job most about growth (new customers, expansion) or efficiency (cost savings, optimization)?

♣ Who benefits from your work? (Other companies, teams, or customers of your clients?)


② Plug your answers into this sentence:

Bonus: add a Thanksgiving twist!
