I built Today because students (like myself at the time) need high-quality, paid opportunities to learn by doing and not by sitting in lectures.

From the initial £300 I gave myself to 'give it a go', I've grown Today into an agency that:

- Works with major brands (inc. Graham's the Family Dairy, Greystar, Boost Juice Bars)
- Has employed and offered paid work to >300 students & young people across the UK
- Operates across 6 UK cities
- Generates profitable six-figure annual revenues

Today is a marketing agency with a difference. We pair business with our local teams of creative, social savvy students who deliver marketing support for growing brands. Our clients get access to affordable social media management and content creation, our student teams get paid, practical experience to kickstart a career alongside their studies.

In my role as Founder I am responsible for all areas of growth and I am the direct report for our regional teams. My days tend to include:

- Fundraising, financial planning and operational cash-flow management
- Building and nurturing our sales pipeline; currently focussed on national consumer brands with multiple sites or distributors
- Playing a key operational role - advising major clients on marketing, digital strategy and implementation
- Business model development and innovation to ensure Today moves with industry developments and shifts in client expectations/demands 
- HR functions including mentoring and supporting our team of full-time regional leads as well as our student teams
- Reporting and analysing key success metrics for our business as well as operational work for clients

BNBbuddy (now Altido) manage Airbnb properties in Edinburgh and Cannes. Working with property landlords and guests I assisted the management team in ensuring that the most efficient and professional standards of service were experienced by all parties. In order to grow BNBbuddy's presence in Edinburgh, I was also tasked with running and developing various marketing projects.

My time at Colliers International has been primarily spent working with the Retail Services team. Working with and learning from a team of experienced brokers with years of market experience in both Asia and other regions, I got a real insight into how Hong Kong's retail real estate market works. My role involved; researching and analysing Hong Kong's retail market as well as recruiting and meeting with new clients who's concepts and brands demonstrated genuine growth potential.

Alix Global is a young Malaysian company specialising in neo-marketing consultancy. The company's partnership with Swedish crowdfunding service FundedByMe has allowed Alix Global to become one of 6 approved Equity Crowd Funding operators in Malaysia. My role focused on growing Alix Global's brand within the Malaysian SME community as well as developing a comprehensive marketing and growth strategy.

This position offered me more responsibility within a professional environment. Standards and precise preparation were important at Browns where I was regularly tasked with supervising and motivating other members of staff as well as being involved in face to face sales of premium alcohol brands with customers from a range of backgrounds. This position taught me the value of forming meaningful, long term customer relationships.

The major advantage of my time here was the team building skills I learnt over a prolonged period of time. My knowledge of Scotland’s food and beverage industry was drastically improved as a result of my time at The Royal Scots Club. Working as part of a team, I contributed to high volume sales of products such as beers, wines and premium Scottish whiskies.

My time at Premier Inn gave me a good insight into how a multinational company operates. As someone who hopes to have a successful business career, I feel that my short time with Premier Inn provided me with a fine experience of a well managed and efficient organisation. Working within such a large organisation allowed me to see the use of a variety of marketing strategies designed to target different market segments in practice.
