With over five years of experience as a shop steward and safety committee member at Cargill, I have developed strong skills in enforcing federal and provincial safety regulations, developing and implementing company safety policies and procedures, and mentoring union members to become actively involved in the union and the safety committee. I am currently the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Co-Chair and a Shop Steward at Cargill, as well as an Executive Committee Member at ILWU Local 333, the union representing grain workers in British Columbia. As a passionate labour activist, I have successfully presented and resolved grievances, attended arbitrations, met with management effectively, and organized campaigns to improve union engagement and solidarity. I have also acquired certifications in Occupational First Aid Level One and Incident Investigations, as well as knowledge of case law and collaborative leadership. My mission is to protect the rights and interests of my fellow workers, and to promote a safe, fair, and respectful work environment for all.
