Working across a roster of digital native talent to manage their growth, brand, business, and commercial opportunities.

Talent Manager

Instrumental.

- Creating new revenue streams for the company. 
- Working closely with Warner Music, licensing and sign music based projects. 
- Developing and creating music projects. 
- Signing influencers to Book publishing, TV, Music and Merch licensing deals. 
- Maintaining partnerships with Key licensing companies- Hachette, NBC and Warner Music.
- Creating and negotiating licensing contracts.
- A&R new Influencer deals. From initial contact all the way through to contract signing.

Senior Artist and Project Manager

- Responsible for building strong relationships with some on the worlds biggest social talent. 
- Working closely with the companies’ brand agency to find and pair talent to brand campaigns. 
- Project/Artist managing brand campaigns- (Boohoo, Jack Wills, Channel 5).
- Creating new brand opportunities for our brand Influencer roster. 
- Both artist and client facing.
- Responsible for building an Influencer brand network of over 250 Influencers. Total combined social reach of over 250M+.
- Building and maintaining relationships with MCN’s, agencies, talent management companies and artist direct. 
- Working with top Social talent influencers in Music, gaming, fashion, sport and Beauty.
- Helping build systems for the Brand agency to run more efficiently. 
- Managing brand/artist budgets.
- Attending key social events with social talent.
- Building relationships with key Influencer events worldwide.

Artist Relations

Instrumental is a forward thinking artist development label / management company. Dealing with mainly Youtube acts in particular, Instrumental's strategy is to build fan bases that entice brands of all kinds who want to reach a certain target audience. With this help from brands and the direct relationship to fans, the idea is that these acts will grow and only partnering with a major label should it fit the project.

I’m an Event Producer and Programming Director for VidCon International, working across all VidCon international portfolios of events across 5 continents. With experience managing, booking, and programming some of the world's most exciting and well-known talent and speakers. 
With over 10+ years experience working in the Music and Entertainment industries, I am particularly interested in the Creator Economy and journal my thoughts weekly on LinkedIn.

Last week’s layoffs across Amazon and Paramount-Skydance sucked!!

For the people affected, first and foremost, but also because none of this should be surprising anymore.

I’ve seen this happening before...

...9 years ago in the music industry!

The major labels saw attention shifting from CD sales to YouTube and streaming.

Music was free!!!

Bedroom artists started recording, releasing and building communities without waiting for a label to “pick” them for record deals.

The gatekeepers suddenly lost their value.

Musicians such as Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Calum Scott, Kid Laroi, Lewis Capaldi all built HUGE careers because they knew how to leverage social media.

Labels had to evolve from “we sell records” to “we build IP, tours, brands and moments around where people’s attention already is”.

And to be fair to them, it took some time, but they evolved, and the business has changed.

Now we’re at the same point in film and TV.

Audience attention is digital. Full stop.

YouTube, TikTok, Shorts, AVOD... that’s where the eyeball hours go and where the budgets are headed.

Creators are already operating for this reality and thriving:

They have:
 → Built-in distribution
 → Lower costs to produce
 → Faster cycles to create content
 → Formats made for the feed, not classic TV grids

This is where traditional media is dying!

Don’t just cut headcount.....Evolve, collaborate and build for long term success.

Co-produce with creator studios. Give top creators slate deals and shared IP.

Make content which is for YouTube/TikTok first, then extend into AVOD/SVOD.

Bring traditional Hollywood strengths: rights management, infrastructure, global distribution. And merge that with creator IP, speed, audience, and creativity.

That’s the future of media!

And yes, use AI to move faster and cheaper, but I still believe nothing can replace human creativity.

The media companies that win won’t be the ones doing the biggest layoffs.
They’ll be the ones brave enough to build where audiences (and creators) already are.

I saw it in the music industry, and I’m seeing it happen in the media industry!
