Working in the UK Parliament, I am currently organising a three-day workshop as part of an FCDO-funded project to address modern slavery and human trafficking in supply chains. Building diplomatic relationships to enhance parliamentary democracy, I will be joined by parliamentarians from across the Commonwealth.

At the award-winning SHARP agency, I built meaningful relationships with global B2B clients, delivered world-class advertising and branding, and beat expectations with strong project management.

Communicating the needs of clients to internal departments, usually with tight deadlines and fast turnaround times, I ensured work was produced to clients' expectations and of the best quality. In some cases, I independently delivered heavy workloads ahead of expectations and contributed to our team beating sales targets.

Worked with designers, copywriters and art workers to create digital banners, social media graphics, eBooks, printed banners and more. I worked on many areas of this process: briefing creatives, proofreading and quality checking work, supplying assets, communicating with clients and organising logistics like printing or material deliveries.

My administrative duties include calculating costs and filing invoices, arranging printing and logistics, as well as creating plans for projects months ahead of time.

Part of a dedicated marketing team working to create happier and healthier communities across Leeds, I was responsible for the company’s press relations and also writing content for our website.

- Communicated with local, regional and national journalists to get our clients’ campaigns in the headlines.

- Created social media content that reached over 23,000 Twitter users for one campaign which chased online sporting trends to market a safe gambling campaign.

- Wrote press releases that regularly got our stories coverage on BBC Radio Leeds and in The Yorkshire Evening Post.

- Created articles about well-being such as mental health, putting my creative writing skills into maximising the company’s online presence.

- Interviewed colleagues for the news stories on our website, showing the marketing and creative industry our work.

University of Leeds Politics and International Studies Society (POLIS)

During my second of University, I was elected to my academic society’s committee to organise events for our members which related to our courses in politics and international relations.

As well as providing an executive function on the committee - running the society and being a point of contact for students & staff - I organised and hosted a number of events.

The most prominent of these events were a Q&A with the senior Labour MP, Rachel Reeves and an intimate Q&A with then Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, where I assisted with security and logistical duties during the event.

I represented the University at two Open Days, guiding our visitors around the University and telling them all about my experience there.

I also helped the School of Politics and International Studies on their induction day for first year students, helping them with their queries and getting to know them.

Student Ambassador

European Youth Parliament (EYP)

As a Head Organiser for the Regional Session of the European Youth Parliament, I organised and hosted a debating session for pupils from schools across Yorkshire, helping them learn about debate and democracy in Europe today.

I arranged a suitable venue and handled the payment for the venue by processing funds from a local sponsor. I secured the sponsorship of Leeds City Council by pitching our event to their international relations department- which won sponsorship from the council for the first time in the event’s history.

I hosted the event with my co-organiser, welcoming pupils and teachers to the venue, as well as coordinating the judges and speakers of the debate. To inspire our pupils, I had arranged for local councillor, Cllr Matthew Robinson, to speak at the opening of the session. 

The staff and students of the schools gave us valuable feedback and praised our running of the event.

My work experience during secondary school was as an assistant on photography and film shoots, handling equipment and operating boom microphones. I also used the Adobe suit to edit photographs, experience which I would later use as a freelance photographer.
