Government of Jersey London Office 

Working in the Government of Jersey's London Office, I help to strengthen co-operation and partnership between the Bailiwick of Jersey and the UK Government. As a member of the External Relations team, I engage with UK Ministers across government departments, and in the UK Parliament, to discuss a range of policy issues from international finance to home affairs.

I play a role in preparing official-level briefings, attending departmental meetings, taking minutes, and organising parliamentary and official-level events.

Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK (CPA UK)

Working in the UK Parliament, I helped deliver an FCDO-funded project to address modern slavery and human trafficking in supply chains. Navigating diplomacy and strengthening international relationships to enhance parliamentary democracy, I built relationships with parliamentarians in 40+ Commonwealth nations to work in policy areas including public accounts, security, trade, women in parliament, and modern slavery.

Duties and experience includes:

- Building relationships with senior UK and international parliamentarians, including House Speakers, former Cabinet ministers and Secretaries of State, members of the House of Commons and House of Lords from all parties.
- Hosting diverse international delegations of parliamentarians in Westminster.
- Organising logistics behind accommodation, event planning, diplomatic protocols.
- Communicating with dozens of parliaments across the Commonwealth and managing databases of delegate information.
- Stakeholder management and engaging with organisations such as the FCDO, British High Commissions, partner parliaments, NGOs, CSOs, legal experts.
- Drafting and editing written communications materials to advocate for action to strengthen modern slavery legislation, working with 50 stakeholders to create an e-handbook.

As a strategic communications researcher, I secured media coverage for global change making-organisations in the NGO, charity and philanthropy sectors- in publications including Al-Jazeera & Tatler Asia.

Media monitoring, policy analysis & client facing briefs, extended research pieces, stakeholder mapping and co-ordinated international media moments.

University of Leeds Politics and International Studies Society (POLIS)

During my second of University, I was elected to my academic society’s committee to organise events for our members which related to our courses in politics and international relations.

As well as providing an executive function on the committee - running the society and being a point of contact for students & staff - I organised and hosted a number of events.

The most prominent of these events were a Q&A with the senior Labour MP, Rachel Reeves and an intimate Q&A with then Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, where I assisted with security and logistical duties during the event.

I represented the University at two Open Days, guiding our visitors around the University and telling them all about my experience there.

I also helped the School of Politics and International Studies on their induction day for first year students, helping them with their queries and getting to know them.

European Youth Parliament (EYP)

As a Head Organiser for the Regional Session of the European Youth Parliament, I organised and hosted a debating session for pupils from schools across Yorkshire, helping them learn about debate and democracy in Europe today.

I arranged a suitable venue and handled the payment for the venue by processing funds from a local sponsor. I secured the sponsorship of Leeds City Council by pitching our event to their international relations department- which won sponsorship from the council for the first time in the event’s history.

I hosted the event with my co-organiser, welcoming pupils and teachers to the venue, as well as coordinating the judges and speakers of the debate. To inspire our pupils, I had arranged for local councillor, Cllr Matthew Robinson, to speak at the opening of the session. 

The staff and students of the schools gave us valuable feedback and praised our running of the event.

My work experience during secondary school was as an assistant on photography and film shoots, handling equipment and operating boom microphones. I also used the Adobe suit to edit photographs, experience which I would later use as a freelance photographer.
