Six months ago, I was stuck.

In a dead-end job.
Dreading mornings.
Counting hours instead of making them count.

What started as a life jacket quickly turned into an anchor.
I was more than unhappy — I was depressed.

Everything that made me great… my creativity, my energy, my ideas, my love for the game - gone.

I was being micro-managed to death.

“Don’t do this.”
“Don’t do that.”
"This isn't working."

At one point, I wasn’t even allowed to send emails because they were a “waste of time.” 

All the while I kept thinking, this is not what I signed up for.
So, I made a decision if I couldn’t find joy at work, I’d rebuild it within myself.

I started writing again.
Reading.
Working out.
Even started a newsletter.

Little by little, I found my confidence again.

I remembered that I can do hard things, things that light me up and eventually, I started looking for a way out.

One thing I knew was I didn’t want to be an SDR anymore.
And I didn’t have the “tech bro” background to jump into an AE role (or so I thought).

So I talked to people, dozens of them - friends, family, connections.
People who saw my light when I couldn’t.

They reminded me of what I love most — helping people, having real conversations, connection, and growth. 

All of those talks led me back to #customersuccess and #accountmanagement.
So I made a list of companies I wanted to work for.

I visualized myself working there.
Doing meaningful work.

Being supported. 
Being seen. 
Being myself.

Every effort was rooted in that energy, and eventually the universe reciprocated.
I wrote these goals down back in April, at my lowest.
Now, I’m living them.

Funny how the universe meets you halfway once you start moving 💙

You’re not behind.

Layne reminded me of that in my 1:1 the other day.

Three words that hit deep: 
“Don’t create pressure.”

Because if I’m being honest most of the weight I carry is weight I’ve added myself...

I set arbitrary deadlines.
I compare my pace to someone else’s.
I turn goals into ultimatums.

But pressure doesn’t build diamonds; it kills creativity.
It kills presence.

What if you just let things unfold?

Focus on the things you can control.
Prepare.
Show up.
Trust the work.

Because the moment you drop the extra load that’s where flow starts.
That’s where real growth happens.

Wrapping up week 6 at Keeper Security, Inc.  and this one was packed.

✅ Deep-cleaned account hygiene
✅ Mapped out where the opportunities hide

Sent my first renewal quote and…sheesh.
Channel. Partner. Distro. And and and. 😂

Locked in my first touchpoint for next week.
Fired off a few intro emails.
Made some calls.

Oh and my first support issue popped up.
Because of course it did lol.

All in all, a solid week.
Grateful for a team that’s always ready to hop on a call and lend a hand.

You’ve come a long way.

Be proud of that.
Acknowledge the work it took to get here.

But don’t confuse progress with arrival.

A lot of people stop once they “make it.”
They get comfortable. 
Complacent.

As if the race is over, but the marathon continues.
There’s still more in you.

More growth. 
More lessons. 
More purpose.

So keep going, keep growing.
Keep moving, but move with love, wisdom, and intention.

I’ve learned something the hard way these past few weeks.
Sometimes the very habits meant to protect your peace can start to feel like pressure.

When I started making content I promised myself I’d stay consistent.

Block time for writing. 
Stick to a rhythm. 
Stay disciplined.

And for a while, it worked until it didn’t.

Work picked up, life got heavier, and those same routines that once gave me structure started to feel like chains.

That’s when I had to remind myself:

Discipline matters.
Structure matters.
But grace matters more.

You can’t pour from an empty cup.

And you don’t lose credibility when you pause
You gain perspective.

Three years ago, I hit “post” on LinkedIn for the first time.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into.

I’d just made the jump from advertising to tech sales.
Still figuring everything out.
Sharing my journey felt like a way to process it all almost like therapy.

Back then, most posts were highlight reels:

→ Meetings booked
→ Big deals closed
→ Quota crushed

But something was missing.

The real.
The losses.
The struggles.
The bad days.

So I decided to share everything.
No filters. No perfect spin.

And something shifted, people resonated.
They thanked me for being honest.
They shared that they were going through the same things.

It’s why I keep showing up.

It’s why I’ll never stop sharing my story because you never know who’s watching or how your words might help someone else keep going.

Yes, there are still plenty of the “look what I can do” posts.
But there’s also a shift happening.

More people showing up as themselves.
More “weird” and “cringe.”
More vulnerability.

And I love it.

It’s so much better getting to know people for who they are, and not just what they do.

 Own 60–70 tees/jackets from the 80s & 90s.
 Nostalgia is my love language.

4. Haven’t had a piece of meat in 6 years.
 (Yes, I still get asked where I get my protein.)

5. Way more sentimental than I admit.
 I’ll save a concert ticket for a decade.

6. College is overrated but it saved my life and I met some cool people along the way

7. Didn’t learn to ride a bike until 9.
 Self-taught. Fell a lot. Zero style points.

8. My brother and I spent entire summers grounded.
 Character building, right? Naw we just learned to be more sneaky (sorry ma)

9. Hoodie on inside year-round.
 I’m basically a human popsicle.

10. Music is the single greatest thing ever invented.

Every single person has genius-level talent.
God-given talent.

But, the real question isn’t if you have it.
It’s whether you’ll answer it.

Most of us already know what our gift is.

That thing that’s been sitting on your mind and heart for years.
That quiet yearning you can’t shake.
That little voice inside begging you to step into your greatness.

The problem...

Fear.
Doubt.
Excuses.

We convince ourselves we’re not ready or that someone else will do it better.
So we silence the call.

But your gift doesn’t go away.

It waits.
It whispers.
Until you finally decide to listen.

So let me ask you:

What’s the thing you keep putting off?

Last week, Amanda and I grabbed dinner with one of her co-workers, John.
He flew down from Pennsylvania for an onsite.

Super down-to-earth guy with a great sense of humor,  but he said something that hit me harder than I expected:

“You have to learn to take the emotion out of it.”

It's been living in my head rent-free ever since, because lately, I’ve been in my emotions.

Reacting, not responding.
Overthinking every detail.
Taking things personally that probably weren’t that deep.

That one line was the reminder I didn’t know I needed.

Accept things for what they are, not the way you want them to be.
Accept people for who they are, not for how you want them to be.

Accept the the present.
The past is gone.
And the future has yet to arrive.

Sometimes peace isn’t found in fixing or feeling.

And definitely not reacting.

It's found in simply letting things be what they are.

We’ve all heard of SMART goals, right?

Specific.
Measurable.
Achievable.
Relevant.
Time-bound.

They help you set clear targets — like “lose 20 lbs in 3 months.”

But the reality: 
SMART Goals are outcome based.

They focus on the finish line… not the journey.
They don’t account for life.
The stress, the curveballs, the unexpected pauses that make progress messy, but meaningful.

That’s why I’ve started thinking about FUN goals instead.

F – Fun: What makes the process enjoyable?
U – Uplifting: What fuels your energy or spirit?
N – Numberless: What if the goal wasn’t tied to a metric at all?

FUN goals focus on how you want to feel, not just what you want to achieve.
Because when you enjoy the process...

The outcome tends to take care of itself.

Just some #randomfridaythoughts

It’s been a while since I’ve journaled.
But something called me to it today.

First line on the page:
“What are you grateful for today?”

And it hit me harder than I expected.

Lately, I’ve been struggling to hold onto gratitude — to see the good when things feel heavy. But that one question forced me to slow down, to dig a little deeper.

Here’s what came out:

→ I’m grateful for the chance to do good work.
→ Another day to love and be loved.
→ Opportunities to grow and learn new skills.
→ And for moments of clarity in the middle of uncertainty.

Sometimes gratitude isn’t loud or easy.

It’s quiet. 
It's subtle. 
Hidden in the chaos.

You just have to pause long enough to see it.

I used to think helping someone meant having the right answer.
Now I know it means asking the right question.

Lately, we’ve been studying Motivational Interviewing in class and it’s completely changed how I show up for others...and the world.

It’s teaching me to slow down.

To listen past the facts and into the feelings.
To resist the urge to fix.
To help someone uncover reasons for change that already live inside them.

I’m realizing the power isn’t in a clever insight or perfectly crafted question. 
It’s in creating space for someone else to find their own next step. 

This shift isn’t just making me a better coach.

It’s shaping how I show up as a 
parent, partner, and friend.

Last week I caught up with a friend who’s been job hunting.
The conversation left me with a mix of emotions and a new perspective.

I’ve been there myself.

Most recently a few months back.
I know the emotional weight of searching for something new.
But she said something I’d never considered through all my career moves:

Psychological Safety.

Not just nice to have.
It's essential and yet, so rare.

The ability to speak up without fear.
To make mistakes without punishment.
To share ideas without judgment.

It hit me how often we talk about salary, title, benefits but rarely about whether a workplace actually feels safe to be ourselves.

And it made me wonder:
How often do we accept a job because of what’s on paper, while ignoring how it might feel day to day?

I’m still sitting with this question:

How can we create more psychological safety at work for ourselves and for the people we lead?

The life you live might not be the one you prayed for
But it’s better than the one you thought you’d have.

Read that again.

It’s easy to get caught up in what hasn’t happened yet.
The job you’re still chasing.
The goals you haven’t hit.
The version of life you imagined by now.

But if you pause long enough, you’ll realize…

You’re living in answered prayers you once whispered.
You’ve overcome things your younger self didn’t think you’d survive, and you’ve built a life that person would be proud of.

Gratitude doesn’t always come from getting what you want.
Sometimes it’s realizing how far you’ve come without even noticing.

So take a second to look around.

This might not be the life you prayed for.
But it’s still a blessing 💙

The most dangerous weeds don’t grow in the yard.
They grow in your mind.

Your mind is a garden.

It needs constant care to grow.
Ideas. Books. Conversations.
All of it feeds the soil.

But negative thoughts, comparison, and self-doubt spread quick if you don’t pull them early.

The mind you build tomorrow starts with what you plant today.

So the question is:
What are you feeding your mind?
