My involvement in hospitality started in the mid 1980's in Melbourne and Daylesford, Australia. I spent a few years in London working in hotels and pubs. Coffee made itself apparent to me on my return from Europe when I moved to Sydney. I began the coffee journey working with Andrew Gross. Later working closely with Frank and Annie at the Byron Bay Coffee Company developing their first Award Winning coffees. Family life brought me to Lake Macquarie then where I set up Real Coffee later to become Real Coffee Hardware. In 2008 I set up a roastery of my own, River Roast and continue to develop coffee skills. Recently I have returned to my passion for music - completing a Diploma in Music Industry at Tighes Hill TAFE, Newcastle. Learning a significant amount music production, live mixing, studio recording and post production. Specialties: Developing award winning coffee blends, questioning the norm having a giggle at just about anything.
