Supervise the day to day running requirements of the Live Network whilst performing the role of maintaining Network Security incidents and policy.
Overall responsibility for all customer network solutions ensuring that all operational targets and customer SLA's are adhered to.
Design and Implement Network service requirements for the management of customer networks. Working with other local authority agencies (PCT, SYP) to provide shared network services.

Examples of some projects: 
•	Designed, implemented and support a secure and resilient Firewall platform using Checkpoint NG AI and Cluster XL. 
•	Design of an integrated network solution for Business Continuity for data and voice over LAN and WAN.
•	Responsible for the design, testing and implementation of an alternative network solution for small offices throughout the UK using a secure ADSL/VPN solution.
•	Design and Implementation of a 4000+ users base Gigabit LAN with resilience between multiple buildings. Included an Optical Wireless connection.

•	Designed implemented and supported a Network Monitoring solution using Nagios on a Linux platform.

Senior Network Specialist / Head of Network Security

To maintain awareness of security threat alerts, vulnerabilities and countermeasures. Evaluation and specification of new security systems and applications (e.g. IDS, Firewall). Conducting IT Security and Internet connectivity audits. Hardening operating systems and Firewall management.

Network Security / Firewall Admin

The main duties of the post were to assist the Senior IT Desktop Manager in the provision of 2nd Line technical support for all aspects of Information Technology including LAN's, servers, PC's and printers. Development of technical solutions and both incident and problem management.  I also assisted with the balancing of workloads and resources within the section.
