Caylent has an innovative and human-centered approach to consulting to help customers get the most out of their investments in people and technology.

I managed the Service Delivery organization at Caylent, which is a global workforce of 250+ consultants organized into practices such as Cloud Migration & Modernization (CMM), Cloud Data Engineering (CDE), Cloud Native Applications (CNA), Cloud DevOps (CDO), Cloud Security & Compliance (CSC), Cloud Platform Monitoring (CPM), Cloud Engagement Management (CEM).  I also managed Delivery Operations teams such as the Project Coordination Office (PCO) and Customer Success Management (CSM).

During my time at Caylent I combined several delivery groups, established new practices and grew the revenue and headcount of the Service Delivery organization by 350%, while improving the gross margin by 120% through management of the P&L. I established strong delivery practices while maintaining industry-leading CSAT scores and supported an incredible team of delivery leaders.

Slalom Build

Slalom is a leading business and technology consulting firm, headquartered in Seattle with offices in the United States, Canada, UK, Asia Pacific and Europe.  Slalom's model consists of local offices backed by a network of global Build Centers and Regional Delivery Teams that provide specific expertise and scale.

At Slalom Build, I created the Cloud Infrastructure division, which later joined with the DevOps and Security teams to create CDS (Cloud, DevOps and Security).  This group was recently renamed to Platform Engineering.

I was involved in the entire engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales client workshops through to contract generation, team modeling, staffing and engagement management.  I interviewed, recruited, trained and managed high-performing technical teams who focused on client delivery.  I scaled these teams across the Eastern Seaboard from Maine to Florida, the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego, and across the regions of Canada.

I also co-developed a few practices including Machine Learning and XR (eXtended Reality).

At Forever Living Products International, I led a team of dedicated software engineers in the design and development of world-class, user-facing products and services.  The software is thoroughly internationalized, supporting more than 30 languages in over 140 countries.  Leveraging the power of the Salesforce force.com platform, Google Apps, CloudBees PaaS and Amazon Web Services, we delivered a suite of both free and subscription-based tools that empower our distributors with the ability to analyze sales and recruitment data, track leads, design customized websites, place and track orders for products, and communicate with their sales team in new an interesting ways.  In the process, I mentored and trained the next generation of truly phenomenal software engineers, encouraging them to share their knowledge and insights with each other, and bringing a passion and love for the work.

US Airways (now American Airlines)

At US Airways I managed the back-office development team responsible for travel reservations (web and IVR), pricing, time tracking, badging systems and boarding pass generation.  Leveraged Oracle Fusion Middleware and custom integrated SOA architecture to provide identity management and data-layer services.  Led a team of engineers in the development and maintenance of TravelUS, a website used to make online flight reservations for employees and travelers using guest passes.  Worked with a team from Nuance to provide web services which integrated a customized IVR system into our local travel databases, and provided some pass-through messaging to the SHARES reservation system using a custom-built JCA connector.

At GDMS I led a group of System Architects and Systems Engineers in requirements development, design and documentation of a large distributed military planning application.  I Provided architectural guidance to a large, geographically distributed group of ~500 Software Engineers, performed design and code reviews, and participated in partner telecons to facilitate overall system interoperability

Advised on large component upgrades and version changes, performed impact analysis for changes to requirements.  I revised and refined the project SDLC methodology and gave educational presentations when new technology was introduced.

I was initially brought on board at Vcommerce as part of the Client Business Systems team as a Java Developer.  My primary role was to resolve bugs and add enhancements relating to client-specific issues within the Vcommerce platform.  The platform itself is a large multi-tenant order fulfillment and order management software suite written primarily in Java.  Our clients included Overstock.com, Target.com, Barney's New York, BJ's Wholesale and several other large online retailers.

I have over a decade of experience as a technical executive, leading and mentoring teams of experts in various domains of technology, such as blockchain, cloud infrastructure, application development, devops, and infosec. I also write code every day, because I love to create and explore new things and ideas. Currently, I am an investor and advisor to several businesses.
